I placed my suitcase by the door as I looked back at the empty room behind me. It looked so much smaller. I imagined where my bed had once been placed up against the wall. Where my light purple dresser had been next to it. I remembered where all my pictures and posters had once been. I sighed. I was so glad to be leaving this town. I had been wishing to get out of here for so long. And thank god Ryan got a job hundreds of miles from here. California's a good state right? I hope so. I picked up my suitcase and walked outside to give it to Ryan to place in the moving truck.
I wasn't really emotionally attached to this place mainly because there wasn't anything to be attached to. I didn't really have many friends, no boyfriends, not really any huge good childhood memories. That and because I am so glad to get away from Teresa and Callie, are the reasons why I am so happy to be leaving. Wait, what if the same thing happens in California? Or what if I totally fall behind and fail? What if everyone hates me?
Ryan grabbed my suitcase and threw it on the truck with a loud thud, breaking my thoughts. "You okay, sweetie?" Ryan asked. I looked up and faked a smile and nodded. He smiled back and placed a hand on the side of my head and let his thumb pet my hair. "Things will be better there, I swear. It won't happen again." He told me. I nodded with that smile again as he moved around the moving truck and hopped in. I walked over to my car filled with a bunch of my junk. It surprises me that all my crap could fit in my silver 2015 jeep cherokee. I opened the door and was about to get in when my mother came over.
"Honey! Do you have room for the rest of the living room knick-knacks?" My mom yelled with a big box in her hands. I looked over and saw my passenger seat was empty. I took the box from her hands and rounded the car. "Awesome, thanks honey. You ready to go?" She asked. I closed the passenger door and took one last look at the house. I sighed and turned to her."Hell yeah." She smiled and walked over to her vehicle. I got into my car and grabbed my bag looking for my keys. I saw a note I stuffed in there yesterday from Teresa. I grabbed my keys next to it and the note. I started the car and rolled down my window. I crumpled the note and threw it out and sped off behind mom and Ryan. She and my ugly past can all stay in this dreadful town.
