Mermaids (One Direction fan fic)

The Sighting

What do I do? What do I do? The boats getting closer. It's a white speed boat with a red lightning stripe painted on the side. I can make out 5 teen boys. They haven't see..............they just saw me. SHIT!!!!! I dive underwater and swim as fast as I can. They just saw me. I wonder what they think?

HARRY'S POV:

Me and the boys were on Uncle Si's speed boat listening to the radio. "Hey Harry can you toss me a Coke?" Zayn asks. "Sure!" I reply reaching into the cooler and tossing him a Coke. "Lad's is that a.......girl?" Louis asks from the drivers seat. "What?!" We all shout running over to him. "Right there see!" Louis says again pointing. Their is this gorgeous girl with chocolate brown hair and beautiful blue eyes. Then suddenly she dives underwater and as she does I know we all see her purple tail. She's a mermaid!!!! "Did y'all see THAT!" Liam screams freaking out. "Is she a.....mer.....mermaid?" Niall asks stuttering. "Follow her!" I shout and Louis turns the boat to follow the purple beauty. "Over there!" Niall says pointing to a purple mermaid trying to get farther on the beach. Well were about to find out who the purple mermaid is. MELANIE'S POV:

I'm swimming as fast as I can but, I can here the boat getting closer. My plan was to just chill underwater until they passed. But a strong current made me swim onto shore. Crap! I wiggle and use my arms to try and pull me up. I feel like a beached whale right now!! Ugh pull Mel!!!! I can hear the boat getting closer.

"Wait were not gonna hurt you!" I hear a british voice yell from the boat that has stopped a couple feet from me. I freeze. "Are you a mermaid?"A different voice asks, still british. I don't move except to nod my head. "Do you need any help?" A irish voice asks. "NO!" I yell before I can stop myself. Idiot! Why would I speak!!!?!?!!?!!'!? Crap!! I wiggle and pull myself harder than ever. Ugh! It's not working. "Were not gonna hurt you!" Another british voice says. I'm out of the water now and I ignore them talking. Suddenly my tail burns and it turns into a pair of tan legs. I hear the boys gasp but, before they can say anything I get up and run as fast as I can to the house. I get in, slam the door and lock it. Please tell me that didn't just happen!!!! My first day in California and i'm already seen as a mermaid. Wow! Mom would be mad!

Then I hear the front door open and Em yell "Mel you here yet?" I run to the front and hug her. "Hey! I've missed you!" I yell as we pull apart. "Me too! I'm so glad were living together now!" Em yells as we walk to the kitchen. I see the boys on the boat talking outside OUR beach house. "You wanna go for a swim?" Em asks staring at the boat. "Ummm na i'm good!" I say which gets her attention. "How come you never want to go swimming with me? Your hair's wet it's obvious you went swimming! And is that One Direction?" She asks pointing to the boat. "It's hard to explain and I guess it is." I say looking at the boat. Then they finally leave. The boat! The boys start the boat and drive off. "Ok I can explain! Just go get your swim suit on!" I say taking off my cover up. Em runs upstairs and comes down in a light blue bikini. "Follow me!" I say opening the back door and look around for the boat. I don't see it so I run out to the line where the water comes up.

"Before I show you, you have to promise not to ever tell ANYONE! This is the most private thing to me ever! Promise?" I say/ask as Em stands by me. "I promise!" She says while making the cross my heart motion. I run into the ocean up to my waist. My legs burn for 10 seconds then it suddenly stops. I look down and see my shiny purple tail. I look up and notice that Em can't see from here. "What just happened?" Em asks running to the dock i'm floating by. "Omg! Your........your........a.........mermaid." She breathes out in shock. "Yup! Suprise!" I say making jazz hands. "Thats so cool!" She yells as she jumps in with me. I giggle at her reaction and lie on my back. Showing Em my whole tail. "Can I........ .......touch it?' She asks hesitating. "Sure!" I say flapping my fin. She slides her hand down my tail with an excited expression on her face. "It's so smooth!" She says in shock. "So was One Direction here on that boat because, they saw you?" She asks with a sympathetic look. "Ya!" I say sadly. Then we both snap our heads in the direction of the SAME speed boat coming towards us. Those boys don't give up do they!!?!?!?!?!?!
