Mermaids (One Direction fan fic)

"Fasten your seat belts please. We will be landing in California soon." The brunette flight attendant said cheerily. We soon landed and I already sent my luggage to Cali so I wouldn't have to go to baggage claim. Yay me for being smart! I take a taxi to Em's beach house finding a note.

'Dear Mel, had to run to the store! Be back soon. Sorry but, welcome! Your room is the first one on the right at the top of the stairs. Love, Em.'

I go up to my room and set it up then decide to go for a swim. We have a private beach in our backyard now. I quickly get changed into my pink and white polka dot bikini. I run down the stairs, out the back door and into the water. Ahhhhh! So peaceful! I haven't been in the water in what seems like forever. I miss the water.........and my dad. *FLASHBACK*

My dad went on a boat one day with my mom.(mom swimming of course) Out of nowhere a huge storm came in and dad fell out of the boat. Mom tried her best to save him but the current was WAY too strong. Dad ended up drowning. Their is like a 1% chance he's still alive. But, that's too risky for hope. My mom blamed herself and NEVER stopped looking for him. *FLASHBACK OVER*

I was deep in thought I didn't even realize I had gone underwater. Mermaids can LIVE underwater because, their is some oxygen in the water that ONLY mermaids can breathe. I could literally stay underwater forever. I go farther out and swim to the sea floor. Oh by the way, in case you were wondering, I have a shiny purple tale with a scale bra. I swim around on the floor, kicking up dust with my shiny tail. There are so many fish around right now and a dolphin! I grab onto the dolphin's fin and let him swim me around for a while. When I finally resurface my heart drops as I hear the sound of a speed boat. Getting closer and closer. Shit!
