"Where have you been?" Dr. McCall asks as we walk in. She looks at our intertwined hands, and I pull away. "You're ten minutes late."

"We were just-"

"The Mikaelson's are here." Kai interrupts.

"I thought they weren't coming until-" Dr. McCall says, her face full of panic.

"Yea, but they wanna meet Kat." He interrupts again. His expression is hard to read, but it's not like he actually cares about me, or that he'll actually show any emotion. "They're coming soon,"

"Okay, okay. Well Kai you need to go, and Kat we need to wait till they come." Dr. McCall says frantically fixing her things around.

"No, no wait what's going on? Why are they so important?" I ask stopping Kai from leaving the room.

"Trust me, Kat. You don't want to get on there bad side." Dr. McCall says. "They are the owners of this place, probably one of the most wealthy and intimidating people you'll ever meet. Their dad owned this place before he died and it's been in business for years. They meet every new patient that comes but usually, months after they've settled. For you, it's different."

"What? Why?" I ask, fear running through my veins. She doesn't answer, her hands grip onto Kai's uniform and she tells him to leave.

"No!" Before I know what I'm doing the word leaves my mouth. They both turn to stare at me but I stay silent looking at the ground. The rush of wanting Kai to stay here with me, by my side till they come, is strong. I want to feel protected by him. Although it does sound stupid that I want the guy who threatened to kill me to now protect me, I really don't care. I just need him to stay here, because I'm scared. And I absolutely hate that I want that.

Kai takes one last look at me and leaves the room. Dr. McCall eyes me suspiciously as I stare at the door, she touches my arm and I'm pulled back from the dark fantasy of Kai coming back and staying.

"Sit." She demands softly and I do as I'm told.

"Why am I so different?" I ask her, the helplessness clear in my voice.

"Kat, you don't need mental help. Well you do but not as much as this place okay? You're stepfather bought your place in here. The Mikaelson's want to make sure you are okay. They're going to be watching you." Dr. McCall says as if this situation isn't creepy enough. Watching me? I know I'm the slightest part of sane, but I know what I did. I had the power to control what I was doing. All I want is for my stepfather to get out of my life for good.

A knock at the door startles me. For the all over-powering owners you would think they would just barge in. Dr. McCall straightens out her uniform and takes a deep breathe before opening the door. A tall dark-haired man stands in front of us, a small smile dancing on his lips with a light shaved beard around his mouth. A black suit with a gray tie drapes along is lean body as he hovers over Dr. McCall. His hair is set on top of his head, a small quiff to be exact, and his dark piercing brown eyes are set right on me.

"Melissa McCall." He turns his attention to the doctor, grabbing her hand and bringing it up to his lips. "How nice it is to see you, again."

"Very nice to see you too Mr. Mikaelson." Dr. McCall says her voice very shaky and nervous.

"Please, call me Elijah." He says winking at her. His attention turns to me again, and I step back.

"Hello, love." He says stepping towards me. "You must be Kat." I nod my head, afraid. He's very intimidating, his sharp eyes never seem to leave mine.

"Melissa, I'm going to take Kat for awhile. Do you mind?" He asks turning to face her.

"No, not at all." She says and smiles politely.
