"I'm going to go check on the pizza, and you can go check on your life," Erika sings.

I mumble a curse and return my gaze back to my black suitcase. This year I graduated from Earlwell Highschool and in honor of that, my parents booked a 3 week vacation at the small island of Curaçao in the Caribbean. I heard that there are beautiful beaches in coves. I guess that sounds ... cool?

Everyone at school only looked forward to graduating. They all complained how hard they have worked, meanwhile they turned in late homework, and have gotten (quite a few) detentions. I only had a few friends not like that; my childhood friends Zeke, Erika, Brooks. We humped through all four years of high school. Zeke and Brooks always bragged to the student body that I was like the queen of the school. It was true because I had the perfect GPA, but I didn't want to seem like I was bragging. Everyone wanted to be me, I tried and tried to convince them they didn't want to. Through the years of high school, my parents fought; almost every night. It was very tiring. It had always been over his drinking, he was an alcoholic. My mom finally decided to cut things off and got a divorce. Now my mom remarried, and I have a new dad... I didn't like my life, I always wanted to move out. I kept to myself to make my parents happy. The only person I told was, Erika.

"Ok, ok. It isn't done yet but, damn, it looks amazing."

Erika comes back into my room and looks at me, expecting something in return. I tilt my head 90 degrees backwards and I slightly smile at her, she pouts. Erika sighs and picks up my favorite guilty pleasure from my cream colored dresser, Sailor Moon.

"Come on, Ry, let up and kick back! Sure, I get that you're going to have a dreary time with your family, but lets have a Sailor Moon marathon before you go," she jokes.

I look turn my head away from her and return my gaze to my suit case. I look at all the clothes I am bringing. I have three graphic mini shirts with matching jean shorts, followed with a cute pair of sandals with a high heel. I always bring my favorite pair of black jeans and my favorite shirt with a heart print on it. My suitcase also has a few dresses and of course my bathing suit. I wanted to bring a one piece but Erika and my mom persuaded me to get a bikini. I never usually wear a bikini, but, I feel like I should try something else. I go over and count my pairs of underwear and socks. I am thankful that I already had my "friend" this month, so it won't come. Of course I couldn't fit any pairs of shoes so I packed another bag with sneakers and a pair of Converse.

"Ryann Bay Coleman! Are you just going to ignore me or should I just leave?" Erika threatens.

I decide that it isn't fair of me to put my sadness on Erika and say,  "S-sorry, sorry, Erika. I just really don't want to go on this trip," I whine, "but I guess I could get some sun, so that's an upside."

Erika walks over to my TV set and pops in Sailor Moon. I smile and laugh under my breath. Many memories of happiness come back to me. Ah, Sailor Moon. Erika, Zeke and I used to watch Sailor Moon together before we met Brooks. Every weekend we used to get together and have a sleepover, staying up all night watching Sailor Moon. I absolutely loved the character design. Especially Mamo-chan! I thought he was very handsome, because of his mask, haha! We loved the action and the comedy. Only Erika and I loved Usagi and Mamo-chan's romance, Zeke thought that it was gross, but secretly he loved it too!

"Only get "some" sun?! Girl, you will probably have so much fun, it's so die for," she screams, "oh, and, don't forget about the boooooyyys!"

I shoot my gaze to Erika and scowl, "Oh my god, ERIKA!"

We both stare at each other for a couple seconds, then we breakout in laughter. It feels good to laugh. I've missed Erika because she wasn't able to make it to graduation. Some family trouble, somewhat like me. When she got back I wanted to see her so bad but, she went to see her boyfriend, Brooks. When we met Brooks, it was in 8th grade. We met Brooks when we used to go to the arcade after school. Erika was the one who found him. I wasn't exactly fond of him at first but he grew on me. I just couldn't believe that she went to see him besides me... I've been with her longer.
