Please tell me what you think! :)

I ignore the fluttering in my stomach, and growl out in disgust. The urge to kill someone spreads through my body like a wild fire, and I lick my tongue over my front canines. Erik sees my reaction to the guys, and positions himself slightly in front of me so I couldn’t attack.

What has gotten into you? Erik questions, and I growl at him. I am too busy fighting with my wolf to answer him.

You can’t reject our mate! He is the only happiness we will ever have! My wolf growls at me, but I could also hear the pain in her voice.

Soul mates can kiss my ass! I am not being mates with a criminal! Even if I did accept him, he would probably get put back in jail two days later! Which that reminds me, did he get his buddies to bust him out of jail? I say, and the sound of hound dogs and policemen shouting answers my question. My ears perk up and out of the corner of my eye, I see the three guys making a bolt for it in their wolf forms. Inside, my wolf swoons at the sight of our mate’s pure black wolf, but I put up a wall to block her thoughts.

I growl lowly before running after them; Erik following suit.

Where are we going?

Why are we following them?

Are you ignoring me, Nicole?

What is your problem?

Erik’s questions clutter my mind, causing me to lose focus and trip over a tree root protruding from the ground. A shocked yelp escapes my lips when my body crashes forward into a hard body. We both start rolling down the hill in a huge heap until my body crashes against a tree. I whimper, but quickly get on all four paws.

Watch where you are going… his voice trails off in my head, and my heart picks up pace at the sound of it. I quickly get away from him, and send him a warning growl. Erik trots over to my side and nudges his head against mine.

Are you okay? He asks me in my head.

Yeah, I’m fine. I reply, and Erik nudges my head again, earning a growl from beside me. We both look over at the black wolf looking at us with pure jealousy in his eyes. He snarls at Erik and I watch as Erik’s muscles tense up, preparing for him to strike. I jump in between them just when he lunges towards Erik, and I let out a threatening snarl.

Back down! I say into his head, and even though we are from two different packs, I know he can still hear my command. Every pack in the United States can communicate through mind link, but it is not as strong as it would be between two members of the same pack.

Two more wolves appear from out of the woods with blood dripping from their muzzles. What did they feed on?

Better yet, who did they feed on?

What have you done? Erik demands in his alpha voice, obviously not noticing that it doesn’t work on wolves from a different pack.

Your alpha tone won’t work on us, so stop trying to demand us to do something. One voice sounds in my head as I listen to their conversation since Erik has his guard down.

We just stopped for a…snack. The other one says and their wolves make a noise that sounds a lot like a snicker.

Erik and I share a knowing look. If the Council ever finds out that they attacked a human, then they will be stripped of their wolves and will be executed on the spot.
