When I woke up, I was surrounded by people hovering over me.
“Where am I?” I said trying to get up. “Ouch!”
There was an IV attached to my arm as I tried getting off the bed.
“Where’s Kristina and Payson?” I demanded. “What did you do with my car?”
“You were in a car crash, sweetie.” said one of the nurses. “You and Bree both have a broken leg and cracked ribs. Payson broke her arm and many pieces of glass hit her head. She had to have several stitches.”
“Oh no,” I said. “This is my entire fault!”
Before I knew what was happening, tears were streaming down my face.
“No its not,” said another nurse, trying to comfort me.
“I NEED TO SEE THEM!”
They wheeled me out of my room, down to where Payson was.
“Hey,” I said when I saw her. “How are you feeling?”
“Better.”
“I’m really sorry.”
“Just go away.”
I sighed and asked the nurses to wheel me into Kristina’s room. She was texting. No surprise.
“Hey bestie!” she said when she saw me. “What’s up?”
“Wow,” I said. “You seem pretty cheerful in spite of the fact that you are stuck in the hospital because of me. And I even made you miss your job interview.”
“Don’t worry,” she said. “I called them and told them what happened and I can come in next week.”
“That’s good. Payson’s mad at me.”
“Well, Payson’s not your best friend. She doesn’t know how big of an accident prone you are.”
“Gee thanks,” I said, smiling. “So, who are you texting?”
“My friend. She said she feels really bad and she gave us 3 tickets into Cody Simpson’s concert next month!”
“OMG! Awesome!!!!”
“Well,” said Amanda. “I feel really tired and I kind of just want to go to sleep. Sorry for being a party pooper.”
“It’s fine,” I said. “I’m pretty tired anyways.”
The nurses wheeled me back into the room and I fell asleep.
When I woke up, I saw Jake sitting in the chair next to my bed.
“What are you doing here?” I asked.
“I heard that you guys were hurt,” he said. “I just wanted to check on you.”
“Why aren’t you checking on Payson?”
“Look,” he said. “I don’t like Payson. I love you.”
He held my hand.
“Then why were you with her for so long? While dating me?”
“I was young, I was immature, I was-”
“That was yesterday!”
“Look,” he said. “I just want you to forgive me. I promise I can change. And I just can’t help but feel guilty for this car crash.”
“I love you, Jake.” I said.
“I love you too.” He said. “Does this mean you forgive me?”
I leaned in to kiss Jake.
“Does that answer your question?”
He had that grin on his face that I had missed.
“I really missed you Jake,” I said.
“I missed you more.”
“Not possible.”
And then he leaned in for a second kiss.
~One Month Later~
“No you hang up first,” I said into the phone, talking to Jake.
“No you hang up first,” he replied.
“No you.”
“No you!”
“Ill hang up first!” Kristina grabbed the phone from me and hung up on Jake. “Get up, and get changed!” she said. She was already wearing the outfit that she was going to wear to the Cody Simpson concert. http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/app
“Wow,” I said. “You look amazing!”
“Yeah,” she said. “Drew hated my grown up look.”
“Big surprise.”
“Go change! Look nice!! Go go go go!!!!”
When I came out of the bathroom, I was wearing http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/app
“Wow.” Said Kristina. “You look amazing!!”
“Yeah, yeah,” I said. “Let’s just go pick up Payson.”
“Umm… I didn’t invite her.”
“We have 3 tickets! For the 3 of us!” I said.
“Oh well,” she said.
“I know you did that on purpose.”
As we were walking to the car, I saw Jake coming to our house.
“Jake!” I said. “What are you doing here?”
“I was coming to see my amazing and wonderful girlfriend!” he said. He lifted me up and spun me around.
“As much as I would LOVE to spend time with you,” I said to him. “We have a Cody Simpson concert to go to.”
“The Aussie Hottie?” he said in a mocking tone.
“That’s him.”
“How old is he?”
“He is 17 years old.”
“So he’s your age…” said Jack. “Stay away from him. I’m not going to loose my girl again.”
“Sure thing,” I said.
I gave him a quick kiss and jumped into the passenger seat of the car. I blew him a kiss as we drove off the driveway.
