Wally couldn't believe this happened!
Really! No I can't go to school with a hole in my pants! I'll just go home sick! Yeah!
Wally made up his mind to skip the first day of school by playing sick. "I just gotta go all the way back to my house.." Wally muttered. He continued running across the side of the road, heading towards his house. It was extremely hot today, Wally started sweating. Then Wally stopped to catch his breath. He put his hands on his knees and panted.
Dang, this is going to be quite the trip back, I'm not even halfway there. Should I go back and get my bike?
Wally looked back in the direction of the bike and shook his head.
Of course not! Not like this!
Wally looked down at the hole in his pants and looked away blushing.
May saw me in my underwear! She'll never look at me the same again!
Then Wally gasped for breath.
This isn't also good for my asthma...
Wally reached into his pocket to pull out his inhaler and took some breaths in and out.
Wouldn't want me passing out right now, I gotta get home before anyone else sees me!
"Hey Wally! The schools the other way!"

N walked over to where Wally was then saw the unfortunate hole in his pants, and tried to ignore it, as he could see Wally was already blushing that someone saw him
"Wally buddy, I can still see you!"
Wally peaked from his hands.
"Oh... Hey -Hey N! I started feeling sick so I was heading back home,heh" Wally said, his voice quivering
"Oh really?" N chuckled, gently moving Wallys hands away from his face. "Isn't it a long way from here to walk all the way back? Did you bring a bike?"
Has N not noticed it yet? I hope he won't! It would be so embarrassing!
"No I didn't, but I'll be fine! Got to go N! Th-thanks!" Wally said, awkwardly shuffling away, Hoping N wouldn't stop him. N gave Wally a look.
Oh no! It's that look! It means he knows something's up! Escape! Escape!
"Wally! It's too hot to walk all the way back! Please -" N said but Wally was already running away.
Don't look back! Run!
N was worried about Wally, he knew about Wally's Asthma and knew he couldn't make it back safely in the hot weather. "Wally! Stop!" N called out, starting to run as well, chasing after Wally.
Wait, is he coming after me?!
Wally looked back, to see N gaining on him.
Eek! He can't see me like this! I gotta run faster!
Wally wiped sweat from his forehead and started breathing heavy.
"Wally wait! Just take my hat to cool you off!" N called out, hoping Wally would stop.
I can't take a chance! Don't stop Wally! You're halfway there!
"Wally I'm going to be late!"
Oh right, Poor N is trying to help me and is going to be late...
Wally finally stopped and covered the hole in his pants with his hands and slowly turned around.
"Hey Wally!" N finally caught up and took of his hat.
"Here, this will help you not get so hot!" N smiled and placed it on Wally's head. "Don't want my little Wally passing out!" He winked. Wally blushed.
"T-thank you N...."
N smiled and patted Wally's head. "Now I'm going to be late, so take care!" N waved goodbye and ran off.
"Bye N!" Wally called and smiled.
N is so nice. And he didn't even notice my pants! That was a close call though!
Wally caught his breath and started walking back home again.
*** About half an hour later ***
Wally arrived at his house, totally exhausted. "Finally here!" He smiled.
He walked up the front porch and knocked on the wooden door.
"Mama! I'm back!" He shouted.
No answer
"Mama! It's me Wally! I'm back!"
Silence
Weird. She usually always answers..
Wally knocked one more time "Hello?"
Still no reply.
Wally, a little frightened, reached in his pocket and got the extra keys and unlocked the house door. He opened the door carefully and peeked inside. He could hear the shower running and a few lights were turned on
Oh good! She was just in the shower!
Wally relaxed and fully opened the door and closed it behind him. He sat down on the sofa and took out his inhaler again. He breathed in slowly and out, then put it back.
'Get out'
Wally jumped to the loud noise and was alert.
What was that!? Who said that?! It came from the kitchen!
Wally, too scared to investigate, grabbed 4 sofa pillows and built a dome around him
Im safe now. I just got to stay still and not make a noise. I hope it Isn't a robber!
Wally shook with fear to the thought
10 minutes go by
Then 20
Then an hour
I haven't heard anything since...
Wally peeked from his pillow dome and looked into the kitchen. Nothing.
Wally crawled from the pillows and sat up quietly.
Wait, Mama's been in the shower for an hour... Something's wrong..
Wally stood up and still realized that he had a hole in his pants and blushed again and thought back to when May told him. Wally shook his head
This isint the time! This is more important, something's off here... Eek!
Wally went to the bathroom door where the shower was. It was still running water and hot steam came from under the door.
"Mama are you in there?"
Like before, no relply
"Mama?"
....
"I'm coming in..."
Wally cautiously turned the knob and pushed against the door.
"Mama!" He yelled when he entered the bathroom, holding a hand in front of his eyes.
"Mama" the same voice from before said behind him
That... That wasn't Mama's voice... That wasn't my voice....
Wally screamed and ran out of the bathroom and dived back into his pillow dome.
Who was that?! Why are they in my house! I got to leave! It's a murder!
Wally got up and ran to the door.
At that moment, a knock came from the other side of the door.
Wally froze. Is that Mama?
The door opened and ...
It was Mama! There she was with the same green long curly hair and blue eyes!
"MAMA!" Wally shouted and hugged her!
"Wally!" She said shocked, " Why are you back from school so early!? And have a hole in your pa-
"ITS NOT IMPORTANT!" Wally said, his face red, trying to change the topic.
"There is another person in the bathroom! He sounds scary!" Wally said shaking.
"Mama" said the creepy voice again from the bathroom.
"AHH THERE IT WAS AGAIN!" Wally shouted, burying his face into Mama, quivering.
Mama started to laugh! "Hahaha Wally you are too funny!"
Wally looked up at her confused.
"Funny?"
She laughed again. "That voice is the new parrot I got! He mimics everything he hears! I was out to get him food!"
"P-parrot?" Wally said, calming down.
Mama chuckled. "I named him Pickles! See watch this!" Mama cleared her voice and shouted "Pickles!!!" A green, small bird flew from the bathroom door and landed on Wally's head.
"Wally say hi to pickles!"
Wally felt the birds talons pierce his head.
"OOOOOWWWW!" He screamed, running back inside, running his hands through his hair, shooing the bird away.
"Wally! He just wanted to say hi!" Mama said, petting Pickles, perched on her shoulder. Mama walked in and closed the door behind her.
"I'm go-going to change clothes now" Wally said scratching his head.
Mama nodded. Wally ran to his room and closed the door and curled up in a ball.
Great, a parrot! I have a fear of birds! Could this day get any worse?
