Strolling to her Room of Books, she scanned her bookshelves for one to read. The room was hidden well in her mansion. Nobody came in but her. The room was full of dust and cobwebs in the corners, some behind the towering bookshelves which looked as if it was going to collapse at any second. It had a tall ceiling which was covered, mostly, by precisely drawn decoration. There were ovals and triangles, stars and squares, all drawn with a thin painter. The room wasn't huge but the size of a normal bedroom. Joanne hid this room behind a bookshelf, which was an entrance to here. She decided to keep this room secret because it had all of the books that her ancestors wrote, and obviously her books too.
Joanne kept on looking, until... seven books caught her eyes. Instantly, she knew it. She would want to read it again. Those books led her into fame. Harry Potter. Slowly, she tipped it out. A wide grin spread across her face as she skipped to her green garden.
She sank on one of the beach chairs by her pool and began to read. Joanne had a private pool that the water could be turned hot or cold. However, she preferred it to be warm. The water was crystal clear, and a breeze blew her pages and some water splatted on her book. She wiped it with her fingertips. Joanne decided to ignore the whether and enjoy her precious plot. The trees swung from side to side.
"Mummy! A tree toppled over!"Jessica (Joanne's daughter) hollered in the distance.
"Coming!"
She still insisted to finish the page she was reading.
Before long, she darted towards the old tree, finding her daughters and son there. She was shocked when she discovered that the tree was hollow. There was a hole on the ground. But something was inside. A book that look exactly the same as the book she was carrying. Frowning, she picked the book up and opened it. A beam of light shone out of the book. As Joanne was filled with curiosity, she touched it with her fingers.
When she attempted to pull them out, it was hard, or impossible. It was stuck. With all her might she fought hard. As she put her another hand through the light, it was stuck. Don't be stupid, it's already stuck and there's nothing else to do, why not pop my head in to see what it does? she thought. That was not an intelligent choice to make but really, she wanted to know what the book is hiding. Her heart pounded rapidly and her hands, luckily, she could still feel it, was clammy. Joanne took a deep breath and closed her eyes. As she lowered her head, she could hear:
"Mummy, why on earth are you bashing your head into your favourite book?" Jessica questioned.
It was too late for Joanne to answer her daughter. Her head was stuck and she could see stars. Abruptly, she could feel that her legs were being zapped in the book. She travelled through a tunnel full of swirls like a cheetah.
