Bee The Aces was a show lasting two years, from 1925-1927. It was about a young girl, Buzz, & her three siblings, Honey, Stinger, & Sunny, having misadventures & learning... lessons.

Now Buzz was a unique girl, the star of the show. She was loud, outspoken, hyperactive, & reckless. She hated dresses, she gagged at the color pink, she never wanted to work & denounced the role of cooking & cleaning. & worst of all, she never wanted a man. She was the terrifying enigma ever, an independent tomboy who didn't conform to societal norms. But those weren't her only characteristics. She was also creative, overimaginative, & very artsy. She was always thinking outside the box, & made art out of anything & everything, sometimes making them come to life & rampage around Hivetown.

She was a big hit for women & girls, especially girls. They found her inspiring, funny, adorable, & charming. But most men despised her for teaching young girls such blasphemy.

But even with the controversy surrounding her character, Buzz was an icon for far long after her show ended... unlike her siblings.

& then there was Honey, the 'proper' version of a lady. She was the complete opposite of Buzz, quiet, docile, & a total pushover, always cooking & cleaning when she's not being dragged onto an adventure & needing to be saved, whether by one of her siblings or her 'future husband of the episode'. She always yearned for a man to be married to, & only spoke when spoken to, unless she was teaching Buzz a lesson about being a proper lady & leaving masculinity to the men. That's right, she's meant to be the 'voice of reason.'

Luckily, Buzz never retains these lessons, there wouldn't be a show if she did, of course.

Honey was an... oddly loved character by male audiences. Despite her age being explicitly spoken to be 16, she was widely regarded as a sex symbol, despite also being a symbol of chastity. Goes to show how disgusting men can be!

Even with her beloved status, she was also hated by some men for being a so-called harlot, due to having a new man to pine for every episode, despite how innocent her crushes were depicted.

& then there was Stinger, the Man of the siblings... despite being a year younger than Honey. He was written as the 'hero' of the story, a role model for boys to follow. But he seemed like more comedic relief than anything else. He was always up & arms when someone messed with his sisters, treating the girls like they weren't capable of defending themselves, but also whined about being the only boy in the family. A running gag of his was getting trampled by a bunch of bigger men, or being dressed up as a girl to entice them, instead of the other actual girls. He was also a huge flirt, but always melted (literally) when any girl returned his advances.

While young boys loved him for being so funny & brave, men hated him. To them, he was a mockery to the very model of masculinity & should've been replaced with a real man, perhaps even one of Honey's 'future husband of the episode.'

Keep in mind this show was created by a very misogynistic, traditional man, & he was losing the core audience he wished to bring in because his characters felt like they were created by feminists.

& lastly, is Sunny, the "villain/anti-hero" of the show. She's portrayed as a queen bee, the richest bee in Hivetown despite being only 10 years old. She was created to discourage girls from seeking out a high power position. She's snobbish, whiny, cruel, pathetic, heartless, & demands everyone treat her like a queen bee. She's incredibly vain & arrogant, & her weakness that ultimately takes her down whenever she has a villainous role, is using her vanity against her. The rare times she played a more 'anti-hero' role, she begrudgingly grew a warmer heart & helped her siblings out of whatever predicament they got themselves in, then immediately went back to treating them like everyone else. Like Buzz, she never retained the lessons of being kind.

From both sides, people who loved Buzz & her non-comforming demeanor, & people who hated Buzz & wanted her gone, the show ultimately crumbled from bad reception from every angle. It's a wonder how it lasted even two years.

Since then, Bee The Aces & the siblings who starred in it were locked in the vault, never to be released to the public ever again. This heavily affected Honey & Stinger, while Buzz & Sunny were more optimistic, trying to find a way out.

Eventually, in around the 90's, Buzz broke out of the vault, & helped her siblings escape. Around the same time, the Warner brothers (& sister!) also escaped from the Water Tower, leading to their eventual meeting.

Since then, Buzz made good friends with the Warners & made her renowned comeback, while the other siblings were left to the dust. Even Honey, who was widely beloved & sold as a sexualized character, was forgotten. While Sunny was left unscathed, & was still able to get many opportunities, Honey & Stinger had to overcome the misogynistic writing that had warped their minds.
