Draco sat on the couch in Slytherin's commonroom. It had, obviously, crossed his mind before meeting the Weasley's girl, that she may not agree to his request. He only needed her help, that's all. Of course it was bigger, a lot bigger, need of help than with school work, since it had something to do with the Dark Lord.

''What's in your mind?'' asked Pansy, a girl with chocolate-brown and green eyes, as she took a spot right next to Draco.

''Nothing much, really'', he answered and took his school books on his lap. ''Thinking about exams. I don't have time to do them very well on this current time.''

''What do you mean? Is there something I should worry about?''

He let out a dry chuckle. ''You never have to worry about me, Parkinson.'' Draco saw from the corner of his eye how hurt Pansy looked. Clearly it had hit her right in her heart. He looked her into eyes and closed the book. ''Look, Pansy, I'm sorry.'' He took her hands in his.

''Why did you say that?'' she asked so quietly it was almost a whisper. ''You've never called me by my surname, why now?''

''I'm sorry, I'm just very stressed. I've got a lot of things going on right now and everything else feels worthless. But trust me when I say, I didn't mean to hurt you.''

Pansy seemed to warm up a bit and pulled a smile on her face. She whispered a thank you, gave a kiss on Draco's cheek and leaned against the back of the couch, watching as Draco did his homework, that felt silly and useless.

Tuesday, 3rd of September

It's been good first two days at Hogwarts, even though my interest of schooling is completely gone. Just like my father suggested, I have asked someone, who's close to the Scarhead, to help me get him to the Dark Lord. I knew Weasel-Bee wouldn't do that, of course not, how would he? Neither Granger would help. They both show their hate for me every possible second. It is not the same with Ginny Weasley. It's obvious, that she does have feelings for Harry, but it's also a way to use her. Perhaps I could-

''Draco.''

Draco raised his head and faced Goyle. He was frowning and nodded his plump head at the black-covered diary.

  ''What's that?''

  ''None of your business.''

  ''A diary?''

''Whatever if it was a diary?''

Goyle snorted. ''What's wrong with you these days? You barely speak to any of us, today you've missed three classes and you write something in a diary?''

Draco took the diary and stuffed it in his bag, threw it over his shoulder so it landed on his back, and hurried out of the commonroom. He was tired of all those stupid questions others asked, like they actually had a matter.

He went outside, where the evening sun warmed up the land and made the sky orange. He found an empty spot at a bench further in the courtyard. Other students were making their homework, chattering or enjoying some sweets bought from Honeydukes (he thought so, until he noticed one second-year Gryffindor breeding a large chin, and realized, that some of the sweets were from Weasley's store).

tell her I've feelings for her, then abandon her, he wrote. Could I actually do that? Of course people would think I could, I am a Slytherin and she, well, she's a Weasley, completely the opposite of me. But she's still a girl and she's got feelings and a heart, that loves and believes. Will I go mean enough to break it?
