Michael didn't hate Stiles and Scott. He just hated their conversations. Since he'd become involved in their schemes, the conversations had become less lacrosse-based and more monster-based. Something the boy hated.
"All right, I only found one thing online called the Kanima," Stiles whispered to the two boys as they left class. "It's a were-jaguar from South America that goes after murderers," Stiles finished.
"That sounds fun," Sky mumbled, appearing behind the pair. It was no surprise since the older girl was trying to avoid Erica like the plague. "Only one problem, that thing was definitely not a jaguar."
"And I'm not exactly a murderer," Stiles pointed out, gesturing to himself.
"I don't know...remember my hamster in 5th grade," Sky shrugged.
"That was an accident!"
Michael gave the boy a look. "Dude, you killed a hamster?"
"Yeah, but if you did see it kill somebody," Scott started, "which is probably why it tried to kill you. And it's still trying to kill you, and it probably won't stop until you're dead."
Stiles stopped in the middle of the hallway and looked at his friend, deadpanned. "You know, sometimes I really begin to question this 'friendship'." Stiles made air quotes around the word friendship.
"Join the list," Michael mumbled with a roll of his eyes.
"If I remember correctly, you got us into this mess to begin with," Sky hissed at Stiles with a glare. "Body hunting in the woods, remember?"
Stiles glared back at his sister. "Don't you have some smart people class to go to?"
The three boys made it to economics after dropping Sky off at her class. Michael pulled his textbook from his bag and was flipping through the pages when Jackson sat down at the desk next to him.
"Hey, testicle left, right, and center," he whispered to the tree boys, making them look at him, annoyed. "What the hell is a kanima?"
Michael's eyes went wide before the three boys turned to look at Jackson, surprised. Before any of them could say something, Coach slammed a textbook on his desk, making them turn their attention towards the front of the class.
"Alright, listen up," Coach called out to the class. "A quick warning before we begin our review. Some of you, like McCall, might want to start their own study groups, because tomorrow's midterm is so profoundly difficult...I'm not too sure even I could pass it." Michael gave Coach a look but kept listening. "Okay, I need a volunteer at the board to answer the first question. Who's got it, huh?" Lydia raised her hand. "Come on, let's go, buddy."
