*Gwen Masen*

Still too nervous to see him again, she wrote a letter to him instead, containing all the words she was supposed to say to him since a long time ago. She went to the post office after she was finished writing her letter and stopped by a relative on the way, to pick up another letter given to her. She received it and put it next to the letter she wrote. As she walked towards the post office, trying to push her luck once more in case the given address was true, she stumbled and accidentally bumped another person, making both of them drop their letters. She hurriedly picked up her letters. Because of the many people passing beside them two, the crowds separated them, making them unable to see each other’s faces. She was able to see his clothing though, the man wore a tuxedo, looking like a business man to her. The girl stood up and continued walking, then finally handed her letter to the postman.

When the girl got home, she put her bag aside then sat down, thinking about her letter. When she stood up, she accidentally hit her bag with her hand and there fell the letter she received earlier. She picked it up and was surprised to find that it was not the same letter given to her. She was sure of it because before receiving it, she looked at the writing on its back. She found out that she had sent the wrong letter to the postman. Then she suddenly remembered the person she had collided with earlier. Maybe they had switched letters! Though her heart still beat nervously, she opened the letter.

Dear Best friend,

I’m so, so sorry for not telling you before. Yes—it was me all along, I just didn’t tell you. When I came back, I didn’t tell you because I had a deal with my parents to just see you, and only that. They didn’t want me to be here again but I still persisted in being with you even for just a matter of time. I wanted to see how you’ve changed but I was surprised that you’re still the same, still the same person I’ve loved since I was a kid. It’s true—I love you ever since we were kids. I didn’t tell you before ‘cause I’m afraid to do so. I’m afraid that if I tell you what I really felt for you, you would hate me. When I knew that we were moving away—exactly the day when I came to see you one last time, I escaped from our house at that moment to supposedly tell you what I feel but a promise was what came out from my mouth. I didn’t regret that promise ever and I think it’s the reason why I still came back. I want to keep those promises I made and it is me now who’s doing it. Although I came back with a different name already, and I’ve changed my looks as possible so you wouldn’t notice, still, I kept my promises. During that time, I was overjoyed to be with you again and being with you is the happiest time in my life. I’m sorry I’ve bothered you if you’re trying to forget me in those days.

I Love you so much. I will always be there for you and I will always be the one to stop those tears.

                                                                                                                          Love,                                                                                                                        Your best friend

Tears ran down her cheeks and after reading it, she hugged it close to her heart.
