Chapter 4: For The First Time.

 I'm waiting in line back stage for my turn to go. I'm going over my song in my head. My heart is racing as I hear im on in 5. Joslynn is next to me trying to calm me down.

        "Shh your gonna do fine. Just don't second guess yourself."

        I smile and nod my head at her. "Your right, okay." I let out a breath, "Okay I'm gonna do good. I can do this." I breath in and out. I probably sound like im going into labor but I don't care, its calming me down.

        Joslynn goes to sit down in her front row seat. And im told to go on stage and get ready, because after the commercial im going to perform for the first time.

        I step out from the barrier that seprates the back stage, that was my safety, stumbling a little. Stupid stage lights weren't on. Luckily I got to wear casual clothes. I would fall on my face multiple times if I was in heals. I stand where I practiced for the past week. And wait for them to announce my name. My stomachs doing flips. As the announcer starts my introduction.

        "We're back. And our next contestant is 17 year old Lisa Yam, from Estacada, Oregon singing All Time Low by The Wanted."

        I hear claps and I swear I was about to urinate right on the stage, I hear Joslynn yell "You got this!" I smile in her direction and face the big crowd. I sing the first line and the butterflies huddled in my stomach explode and my stomach does flips all over again. As I get more and more into the song, I start to feel better. I close my eyes and let the song flow out of me.

        I can hear Joslynn cheering for me, and I smile.  As I sing the last note I open my eyes to the crowd and my ears are filled with applaud. I give a big grin as the announcer comes up and puts her arm around me.

        "Fantastic job Lisa. And lets see what the judges say. Lewie?"

        "Magnificent. all around good performance. I'm regretting saying no to your audition. Your proving yourself well. I greatly enjoyed it."

Mary pipes up "I-I-I again have no words just like your audition you've blown me away."

Simon just smiles. "That's my girl! I told you, you could do it and you did. I'm proud of you."

        I give them  big grin and thank them. I had the biggest rush. This was the greatest night. And I knew there were more. But now, I get to watch Joslynn sing If I Die Young.
