Jason pulled me into the next room after that. Though I was nervous about leaving Charlie in there alone, I still went with him. Jason's first words to me were "I just killed a guy." He spoke in a hushed but panicked tone. "Dude you had to, or he would've killed us." I replied staying quiet.
"Yeah but I could've just shot him in the arm or the leg... We could've subdued him"
"Look, everything has gone to shit and if I'm gonna be honest, that's probably not the last guy you're going to end up killing. It's just the way things seem to be now... But we'll get through it... I know we will" I smiled though it was a forced smile - I didn't really believe myself when I said it. His voice pulled me out of my thoughts "Okay I think I'm good now"

And on that note we walked back into the living room to find Charlie on his feet, but still bound to the chair we tied him to. "Charlie... what are you even trying to do...?" He stopped dead and sat the chair back on the floor.

"Uhh, erm... I was just looking to turn the heating on... It's chilly in here." It was easy to see through the lie. He wasn't even trying, he knew he'd been caught.

                                                                                               *******

"Charlie" I said pulling up a chair in front of the bound man. "All we want to know is what the hell just happened to our city? How has everything been destroyed...In only 24 hours?  We are not part of the government, or in the army, or any other bollocks. We sell dodgy TV's out the back of our van for a living, so please just at least fill us in on who you are or what you want..."

"What we want?..." he smirked. "Is your country burned to ashes, I've nothing against you two. You really do seem like nice people, it's more against the entire of England"
"Why? What do you have against us?"
"You're a danger to the world and to yourselves!"
"What the hell are you talking about?!"
He just laughed. "You don't even know. Ah well have fun finding out." He laughed again.
"You know Charlie, I liked you." That's when the but of my gun broke his nose. "I really don't any more..." His eyes rolled back and his shoulders slumped. He was either unconscious or dead, I didn't bother checking.
"Come on Jason grab whatever you need and we're leaving." He nodded and rushed off to grab supplies while I sat there and thought about what he'd said. "Answers always seem to just make more questions..."
