Harry watched as the older boy sang into the mic. He was definitely a little flat, but he had more passion than anyone here. He couldn't help but notice the charm the boy had. He'd smile once in a while at the judges; subtly of course. Only someone as observant as Harry would have noticed.
"His name's Lewis," a boy with a thick Yorkshire accent said. "I don't think he has a shot."
A certain anger bubbled up inside his veins. But Harry, being himself, straightened his back and spoke in a respectful tone, "Agree to disagree."
The boy simply shrugged and backed away, leaving Harry to stare at the monitor backstage. Lewis looked really good, Harry noted. His hair swept across his face in a haircut only he could pull off. His outfit put Harry's to shame; or so Harry thought. As soon as Lewis passed the judges, Harry let out a mental whoop.
Harry scurried to the stage where Lewis was exiting and rushed to shake his hand. It was a lot smaller than Harry's, he noticed.
"Hi there?" The boy said, obviously concerned with the attention that Harry was giving him so suddenly.
"I-I'm Harry Styles. It's nice to meet you. Your audition was great."
Lewis smiled at the boy. "It was a bit flat, I think. But thank you anyways. I'm-"
"-Lewis, right? Someone told me."
He laughed. "It's Louis. Pronounced Lou-ee."
Harry's face turned a bright red, making Louis smile even more at the starstruck boy. "I have to call my mum quick. I'll see you around...Harry."
With that, he dismissed Harry and began dialing onto his phone. Still in an embarrassed state, Harry quickly walked away to a couch where he downed an entire bottle of water.
That, however turned out to be a mistake, as he had to wee almost immediately. He rushed to the nearest bathroom and unzipped the zipper to his khakis. It wasn't until he began to pee that he realized he was once again with Louis. Startled, he accidentally splashed onto Louis' pant leg.
"Oops!" Harry said, embarrassed once more in front of his crush. Louis only shook his head and flushed.
It wasn't until they were washing their hands that Louis spoke. "Hi," he paused. "Again."
Harry kept his head down. "Sorry."
"'S alright. You din' mean it," he said in an oddly thick accent that caught Harry off guard. "Harry, right?"
He nodded, only a little (Well, okay. A lot) excited that he remembered his name. "Do you want to possibly get a bite at that sandwich shop down the road?"
Louis clicked the power button on his cell to check the time. "Ye' sure."
Harry blushed and led him out the door to the little restaurant. He remembers sensing something shifting in the world as Louis said those words.
Little did he know.
