The whole night passed in a shadow of grief. A suffocating stillness spread through every corner of the mansion.
Devadriptya had not returned the whole night and his absence created a deeper silence into the air. No one got the chance to speak with him or to ask questions.
Behind the closed doors, Varshini drowned herself in tears. Her sobs echoed through the whole room.
The little hopes she carried in her heart, that perhaps from now on everything would be alright, that they could finally move forward in life forgetting the past, got shattered completely after this incident. The horror had crushed that little hope mercilessly.
She simply couldn’t believe that Aryamaan was no more. And her husband? Could he commit such a monstrous act?
Her heart screamed no, but her eyes betrayed her. How could she deny what she had seen with her own eyes today?
Even the sight of blood was unbearable for her and today, she watched him kill his own brother right before her eyes.
Her hands and feet got frozen with terror watching the scene. Her entire body went numb.
She had witnessed that terrifying side of her husband previously too but that was totally a different case. She knew how dangerous he could be, how violent he could turn when he saved her from that demon that day.
But would he be able to kill his own brother? Could it be possible for him?
The only thought tore her apart. She felt like she was losing her mind.
It was like a curse was following her since the day she stepped into this house. Her life was stuck with misfortune from every side. She didn't get a single moment of peace in her life after that, not even after being the bride.
Was there no end to this? Would she never find happiness again?
It seemed as if she could never truly be at ease with Devadriptya. A strange terror gripped her heart which wasn't leaving her mind.
For now, she wanted nothing more than to escape his presence. The thought of him coming near her increased her fear. She did not want him anywhere near her right now. His fierce, wrathful, unforgivable side shook her to the core.
She didn’t even realize when sleep consumed her and she lost herself into its dark embrace.

The early morning too passed in an unease. A deep gloom had settled all around. It was almost 10 o'clock in the morning.
Suddenly, Tanishtha struggled to open her eyes. An unbearable pain throbbed in her head. It felt as if her body was tied to the bed with invisible chains.
