Part 1:
The Princess and The Handmaiden and The Assassin and The Contractor
The Princess and The Handmaiden
The young princess gazed at the paper that set before her. She wasn't paying any mind to it though.
"My Lady? My Lady!" You were snapped from your thoughts! You quickly looked around, but soon your eyes lay on her ginger-haired handmaiden, Petra. Her amber eyes held worry, but not much.
"Uh... Um.. Yeah?" The girl answered with confusion. Her servant sighed.
"Princess, you can't ask things like that? You need to be proper."
"Oh... Oops.. Sorry...." She cleared her throat and fixed her posture. "I apologize, Petra. I was off in dreamland."
"It's alright, My Lady." Petra soon smiled teasingly. "You were dreaming about the king, weren't you?" A small blush covered your face.
"Huh!?!" You were back to being improper. "I weren't not!"
"I wasn't." Petra corrected. "Really, you must mend that habit of going stupid when you're flustered."
"I'll have your head for that!" Both girls erupted in giggles! "Like I could ever kill my best friend!"
"Dear Queen, how enjoy our little times to joke around!"
"Ah-ah." You shook your finger. "I'm not queen yet." The old queen had given birth to a young prince. His father, the king, had died out in battle, and he was made king. His mother was waiting for him to find a bride and marry before she gave up her title.
"But you will be." Petra assured. "The wedding is in a few days. Let's just finish the seating arrangements and then you can dream about the king all you want!" You smiled even though it was a lie. You weren't dreaming about the king. Your thoughts were wrapped around the mysterious figure you saw earlier.
You were walking through the palace courtyards alone; occasionally sniffing a flower or watching a bird. The sun was shining, but the palace had a few dark shadows. Through them you saw something move very quickly! You shook your head and started to question if you really saw it or not. It was quick like a flash, but it looked solid black because it was hidden in the shadows. The figure looked to be a human male. It could be one of the servants around here. You thought to yourself. Maybe Eren. You continued, though you highly doubted that. All of the servants would bow and address you as "My Lady" or "Princess (f/n)" or sometimes just "Princess". None of them would sneak around unless they did something they shouldn't have done.
"My Lady, were shall I sit?" You heard Petra ask. You zoned back to the real world and glanced down at the seating arrangements.
"Up here." You stated while pointing towards your side at the top. "My father and mother shall sit here and you will sit beside them. My aunts, uncles, and cousins shall sit on the remaining pews." You looked at the empty rows behind were your family would sit. "Maybe we could place the jester up there too." Petra giggled.
"You mean Hanji? You know she's not a real jester right."
"I'm well aware but she always makes things seem better. We can place the rest of the servants on the other pews." Your smile dropped from your lack of family.
You were an only child with a mother, father, uncles and aunts, cousins, and Petra. She had been through your side through thick and thin. You were born in a noble family, but she wasn't. She lost her family at a young age and was drove to the streets. Since your cousins hadn't been born yet, you were alone. You mother and father and the servants were there, yes, but no one your age that could be there all the time and didn't have anything to do.
