"Liam, wait up!" I called out after my friend, sprinting after him

"Liam, wait up!" I called out after my friend, sprinting after him. We were walking to the boys locker rooms so Liam could get ready for the lacrosse game today, but Liam's pace was much faster than mine.

Liam laughed. "Sorry. I'm just nervous. We're playing Devenford Prep again."

I gave Liam a smile. "You'll do fine, Liam, I promised. Besides, Brett isn't so intimidating now that you know he's a fellow werewolf."

Liam shrugged. "Maybe. Hey, speaking of werewolves, have you seen Scott any today?"

I shook my head. "Now that I think about it... no, I haven't. Why?"

"Well, I mean, he's the team captain." Liam replied. "And our game is today. It's not very Scott-like to miss a game."

I shrugged, just as I saw Stiles coming into view. "Hey, Stiles, have you heard from Scott lately?" Liam asked.

Stiles didn't reply. Instead, he continued walking, past Liam, swinging the doors to the locker room open. Liam followed him inside. I hesitated and then sighed, following the two boys into the locker room.

"Stiles!" I said, exasperated. "Liam asked if you've heard from Scott. You know, that dude who's your best friend?"

Stiles looked up at me and rolled his eyes. "Everything's fine, guys. He said he might be a little late."

"What about Kira?" I asked.

"Scott and Kira went on a date last night." Stiles said. "And, uh, they'll both be late."

Liam and I exchanged looks. "Well, how late is late?" Liam asked. He sounded very on-edge. "Is he always this late? We're playing Devenford Prep again, and this time, it's an actual game. He shouldn't be late."

Suddenly, Coach Finstock appeared. He glanced at me. "I'm not even gonna ask why there's a girl in the boy's locker room." He grumbled. "Anyways, who shouldn't be late?"

"Scott..." Liam said after an awkward moment of silence.

"And Kira," I added.

"They might be slightly late," Stiles told Coach.

"'Slightly late' is still late." Coach frowned. "What're they doing?"

"They're doing something that's going to make them slightly late." Stiles said, clearly improvising. I rolled my eyes.

Clearly, Coach wasn't buying Stiles's excuse. "What could they be doing right now," he yelled. "That's more important than the first game?"

Stiles sighed. "Oh, Coach."

I sighed as well, walking out of the locker rooms to leave the guys to get changed. I leaned on the wall outside the locker room, texting Celeste. As it turned out, she was DEFINITELY not going to the game, because the SEASON FINALE of Pretty Little Liars was tonight.
