Chapter One:

As I chuck on my outfit for the day, I make sure to grab my backpack on the way and knocked on my brothers door. It's currently 7:00 AM, which means that we have school today--otherwise, I would be still sound asleep in my comfy bed right now.

"Carter, wake up god dammit! Why is it always me that has to wake yo' ass up for?" I walk straight into his room and shove him off the bed, hearing him protest about me pushing him off the bed all the time.

I help him up and roll my eyes, "Well it wouldn't be a problem if you set your own alarm, Leslie." I mock his middle name, earning myself a glare. "This is the last time I am waking you up, so don't go running to me when you're late for school." I grumble and walk out of his room, slamming the door behind me.

Did I mention that I have anger issues? Well, I do. Carter always tries to beg me to seek some help but I always tell him to shove it where the sun don't shine. I don't need a shrink or management classes, I'm doing fine by myself--just as long as no one pisses me off, they should be fine!

Ever since my parents died when we were younger, it has always been Carter and I in this massive mansion. Considering it's only us that occupies this house, it gets lonely and also creepy all the time. And I swear there are ghosts haunting this house as well, but no one believes me so I just shrug it off, I'm not exactly afraid of them like--what can they do? They're transparent, we can't see them and they can't harm us in any way. Unless they have some sort of voodoo magic, of course.

Trudging down to the kitchen making myself a bowl of coco pops, I quickly ate my breakfast before pouring some coffee in my teenage mutant ninja turtle thermos --don't judge me! I'm a major tomboy and I also happen to love TMNT!

As I grab everything that I need, Carter comes stomping down the stairs as usual and pours himself some breakfast.

"Morning, sunshine!" I cheekily grin, giving him a hard slap on the back before lazily walking towards the front door. Hearing him grunt, I ask him if he needs a ride to school but he quickly rejects my offer, saying that Jay is picking him up in 10.

Shrugging, I hook my keys around my fingers, swinging them around and climb into my turquoise blue Aston Martin, one of many beloved cars sitting in my garage.

Hearing the satisfying hum of my car, I drop the clutch into first gear and began my journey towards Cross High, reaching a speed just over 50 km/h--just above the speed limit. Passing Jay in his lame Land Rover, I flip him the bird to which he happily returns. Jay and I never got along due to his status. No, not school status but his gang status. He is the leader of MS-13, I have no idea to why my brother is situating himself with them, completely knowing how gangs screwed up our lives. I do have a hunch that he's in the gang but then I shrug it off as he promised me after our parents sadly passed away, that he won't get involved with them.

Pulling into a park closer to the entrance, I turn off the ignition to which a voice system that has been installed--farewells me and I smoothly glide out of my car, locking it in the process and made my way to the entrance.

"Matt! Matt!" I hear a familiar voice yelling out from behind me. "Wait up for me!"

As Bianca reaches me, she is puffing for air. Once she has gathered herself, she pulls me into a tight hug as I look at what she is wearing. She's wearing a grey dress shirt that ends just above her mid thigh with her sleeves slightly rolled up, she has platform black vans on with black socks, a watch clasped on her wrist and a light denim hat on that's backwards. Her style never stops to amaze me, ever. That's why I love her style, she is just like me!
