He had straightened out his black jacket. This was it. He had prepared.

As soon as he got through the doors of the apartment he looked for something cool to wear and hit the shower. His mom had questioned why he was in such a panic but she apologetically ignored her.

By the time he got out, it was six thirty. He rushed himself and it hit 7. He was bored. Tick tock.

Meanwhile, she was still puzzled. While getting ready, she questioned why. Why did he suddenly kiss her? Why did it make her feel something? What is wrong with her?

She put a small coat of pink on her lips and parted her hair. She fixed her piercing and bit her bottom lip.

Fuck. She thought to herself as she looked down at what she was wearing. She tugged at the bottom of her cropped long sleeve, and tried to pull up her jeans further. She quickly grabbed her eyeliner and softly swiped a little bit of it across the start of her lashes. She let out a breath and puffed up her cheeks in the mirror.

"I look fine." She tried to reassure herself.

Why was she panicking about this? She never cared about how she looked but he made her feel conscious after what happened early. She was scared that he'd all of a sudden change her mind about her. But why did she care?

Of course he was good looking and sweet at first but that's not all to a guy. A lot of them have secrets and she knows none of them. She can't automatically assume he's perfect.

"And that's exactly what I'm doing." She said aloud and shook her head.

"Ugh I'm a fool." She mumbled and bent down to tighten the straps on her chunky heels.

It's only seven. Still an hour to go until he gets here. She thought to herself.

She pulled out her phone and texted Veronica.

M=Marisol // V=Veronica

M - are you ready?
V - not yet, I just got out the shower, what about you
M - dressed and ready, I'm just waiting for Vernon
V - you mean ur BF¿?
M - he's not my boyfriend, we're not dating, I don't want to date him he doesn't want to date me.
V - L I E S, I sense lies
M - shut up
V - it's evident he likes you, and you like him too so why are you acting like that
M - I don't like him. No possible way.
V - you're using punctuation it's a direct lie ahahaha
M - I hate you so much
V - love you more 😩😂😉

She closed my phone and shake my head. Ugh this girl, she thought.

She looked over at the clock again. 7:15. Could time go any slower? She hooked up her phone to her speaker and played her 'all time favorites' playlist on soundcloud. It started off with her most loved song, "I Know" by Big Sean featuring Jhene Aiko. She hummed along to the tune and moved from her desk chair to her bed. She laid down and spread out her body. She moved her head to the beat and let her playlist play out.

The final song Adore U, which was introduced to her by another friend from Chicago, just finished its last note. She sighed and still laid there. Another song came on. It was unfamiliar but the voice in it were soothing. It was a rapper. His voice smoothly went along with the track. As the chorus came along, certain words stood out to her. "What defines you?" The question was intriguing. She thought about it, until her thought process was interrupted by a knock on her bedroom door. She sat up and groaned.

"Come in!" She yelled over the music. She moved over to her phone, liked the track and clicked her phone off.

Vernon came in and she eyed him up and down. His outfit was casual yet stylish. She was impressed with his style. A plain white tee paired with black jeans, topped off with a black leather jacket and black and white vans. She bit her bottom lip and he leaned in the doorway.
