Gone

I walked shivering and frozen to my bones. All I had was a long white dress, that looked flowy and was in bedded with crystals like a wedding dress. My feet were done, they had frozen enough that I can't feel my toes are going to start breaking off soon. My hands stayed close to my mouth, I tried to save the last of my body heat as I much as I could but my body was so tired already. The beautiful white snow came up to my knees, more fell swiftly but softly onto my long black hair. I kept telling myself if I got to the city or even to a small town, someone will take me in. But no matter how many times I looked up to the skies to see any kind of light, even a glimpse of sunlight, there was nothing. All I saw was darkness and trees. This was my 3rd day trudging through this blistering snow.

"Little girl." Whispers of a young female voice came to me. "Little girl? Where are you going?" The women's voice sounded taunting and grim. I ignored the voice. Even though it's the only voice I have heard in a while. I kept walking through the trees. Climbing would have made me go a bit faster but my hands would start to bleed. The bark would be way to rough. About 50 feet ahead I could see two large trees a lined. They looked about 60, 70 feet high, roots were crowning out of the ground on my left and the one on my right seemed the oldest, and sturdiest. The roots looked as tall as me on the right tree, but some of them seemed to make a bridge that I was actually able to fit under them.

Hesitating to crawl into the snow, I heard the faint sounds of hell dogs. They have been chasing me for the last 3 days, there were about 10 or 12 so I had to crawl fast. I dropped, the snow came up to my shoulders. A bitter chill went through me. I started to crawl. No reason to go slowly, the snow came to my shoulders. Left knee, right hand, right foot, left hand I kept telling myself in a rhythm that was supposed to keep me moving. As I crawled I cried, cried every tear I could get out of my wasting body. I was going to freeze to death, I rather freeze then be mauled by vicious rabbet dogs. I looked up trying to see how far I had gotten but it seemed like I didn't move at all. The darkness and the thons of the roots made it more unbearable. I heard the dogs coming closer, I have to move faster.

It felt like hours before I saw light. Maybe it was the light of day finally. I stood up and ran as fast as I could, I wouldn't stop until I found that bright blinding light. As soon as I felt able to touch the light, I ended up into a frozen cave. I stepped off the snow and slipped on the ice. I slide until I was about 15 yards on a frozen pond. I finally fell straight on my back, my head my head feeling like it just shattered the ice or the back of my skull. I stared up at the sky, the caves ceiling must have collapse in a while ago. I saw the wind forcing the snow left to right. I was so pretty yet it was so deadly for a girl like me. My body was now completely numb. I heard the dogs on the ice. Their low growls didn't scare me as much as they did a few days ago. My chest already is heavy enough that it feels like its crushing my lungs. I heard dog slowly walk up to me, we were far apart but it wouldn't take them that long to get me. "Please... please let me die before they get me." I tasted the blood from my lips as they split open, when I whispered my final words.. The hell dogs were apon me, I looked up and saw the drooling flesh less dog above me. I closed my eyes "This is it, goodbye." A squeal came out of the dog that was by my head. Then multiple gun shots. I couldn't open my eyes. Footsteps approached me, I wasn't scared anymore all I wanted to do is die. I'm a burden to everyone. "Come now little girl. You'll be alright."

"No please leave me alone." I whispered, I could barely move my lips. "Hush baby, hush"|    My hearing is going but all I see is darkness. Is this Hell?  Was I really made form a curse?
