Happy Reading!!
--------------
It was the day before my senior year and I wasn't ready to get back to school. It wasn't that I hated school. Well a small part of me did, but it wasn't the cause of my dark mood. I spent the whole summer thinking about Mia but couldn't get myself to claim her. She was better off without me.
I sigh dejected and put my soccer ball down.
I've been kicking the ball around and doing some tricks. Anything to get my mind off Mia. I knew after this week I would be going back to school as Jade's 'boyfriend'. The thought alone made me nauseous.
Sure she was hot, but her personality made her ugly. I'm glad she wasn't my mate. If that was the case I would have taken the rejection route.
I looked around and noticed it was getting dark.
'You almost finished?' Nolan mind-linked me.
'Yeah, I'll be there soon.'
'Alright, just don't forget you have to sign a treaty of peace with the Parallel Pack.'
'I didn't forget.' I roll my eyes. Being an Alpha was a pain when it came to rough stuff. Other times I didn't mind the power that came with it.
I closed our mind-link and started to shift into my bear sized black wolf. As werewolves it wasn't hard to shift after your first shift, but the first time it's always hard and painful. If you're an alpha it's especially hard, but after shifting for a while, I got used to it.
I ran fast and enjoyed the wind in my fur. It was exhilarating! I could feel the wind in every strand that covered me. My feet picked up dirt with more speed. Running in wolf form was the best feeling in the world.
Disappointment creeps up as I approached the pack house. I change back to my human form and put my shorts on. When we shift our clothes get tucked in our underbelly. They somehow get sucked on.
As I'm walking up the front stairs I notice some sexy girls walking around. They stop and check me out. Man I loved being the Alpha! I send them winks and they giggle behind their hands.
I knew my body drove girls crazy but I couldn't get myself to stray. At the moment Mia wouldn't be able to tell if I slept with other girls. Our bond wasn't activated completely. It only happens when we both accept each other. Males on the other hand can tell. I guess it has to do with us knowing who our mates are before them.
I shake my head at the stupidity of the whole situation.
"Hey Alpha!" My other friend Trevor says giving me a high-five. "You get the message about the treaty?"
I nod. "Do you think I should think more on it?" Normally I wouldn't ask a pack member for advice but Trevor was also my third in commend. Pack members just followed my final say. As it should be.
"Yeah man. It will be good to have an Ally." He shrugged.
That's true.
"Plus they have some banging babes." He chuckled mock punching my arm.
I laughed in agreement. "Alright man thanks for the push. You going to be there or do you have plans?"
He shakes his head. "Nope. I'm a free bird for now. I can't guarantee later especially after the treaty."
"No doubt man! I feel you."
"Is the Parallel Pack's Alpha here?" I hoped so. I didn't like waiting for nobody.
"Yeah his just waiting on us."
"Straight. I like him already." He turned around and we headed to the meeting room.
We made small talk here and there till we reached the door. Trevor opened it to me and I walked through making sure to exhibit power. Their pack has been having problems with rogue attacks. This treaty was going to help the situation.
The Parallel Pack wasn't as big as ours but it could hold its weight. They needed my fighters and I needed they're loyalty in case another pack declared war.
"Alpha Mathis. Long time no see." I greeted him with a smile. No need to be intimidating with someone I was going in business with. If he ever fucked up he would regret it.
He was sitting around my round mahogany desk facing away from me. When I opened the door he turned to face me. He must have sensed me.
"Alpha Nate Carty. It sure has been long." He smiled at me as I shook his outstretched hand. I went around the desk to my chair and we sat down.
Alpha Mathis was tall and lanky with brown hair that matched his eyes. He was a kind and fair Alpha from what I heard and rarely took his pack to battle. I didn't need a pack that carried drama so that was good to hear. He was a few years older than me and was mated to a former rogue.
"Ready to sign the contract my beta constructed?" I asked him. I wanted to get straight to business and skip the long pleasantries.
"That's why I'm here." He said folding his hands on my desk. I raised my eyebrow but didn't say anything.
I give him a curt nod. "Any questions? Once this contract is signed there is no going back until further notice or one of us breaks it."
"I understand. I looked over it when I arrived. I like everything so far, except a couple of things." He replied.
"Let's look over them."
I admired him for not blindly signing. It showed signs of responsibility. Contrary to popular belief, not all Alphas knew how to run their packs.
We spent the day looking over the parts he didn't like and we eventually came to a middle ground. One of the things was for me not to date any of his pack members. I understood where he was coming from. I'm Apparently known as a heart breaker.
"Alright let's call it a day till next time." I stand up and shake his hand.
"Sounds like a plan." He grabbed his belongs. "Enjoy the rest of your day."
"Same for you."
It wasn't easy being a young Alpha but I knew I was built for this. I stood up and walked past Trevor who was standing by the door.
"This went well minus the block to his pack members." I chuckled.
He shook his head with a sly grin. "He had a point though!"
That was true.
"Yes but oh so cruel. I'm just glad to have that over with. I'm going to finish my school work. I'll see you tomorrow."
We did a man hug and went our separate ways.
