Emily's POV

I always like going to the library after school to study and get some quiet time. It's probably the only place in town that no one ever goes. Which is sad, isn't it? Books are amazing. They give you the chance to escape your reality and enter a new one for a few hours. I like getting out of my world and into a new one. I read science fiction books, action novels, even horror novels. I won't go near the romance section though. The cheesy, stupid words they write burn in my mind, knowing they get to be with the ones they love, while I'm stuck here day dreaming and drooling over Queen Bee, Ali D. God she's perfect. The way she smells, her hair, her body, her eyes, damn just everything about her is perfect. I make my way to the horror section and grab a random book without even looking at it and make my way back to the couches so I can read for a few hours. A few pages into the book I hear "Hey Em, what's up?" I don't even need to look up to know who it is. Alison. "Hey Ali, just reading a book, what's up with you? I didn't know anyone else even comes here." I said with a small laugh. "No one does, I come here for peace and quiet." she stated. "Well I was just about to head out." I said nervously, not wanting to be around her without the rest of our friends. As Ali sat down next to me on the couch, I started to get up. As I started to walk away I felt Ali's warm hands wrap around my wrist. "Please stay" she said, in a voice smaller than I thought possible for the Queen Bee of Rosewood to have. "I want to talk to you." She whispered. Ali is one of my best friends, and even though I'm madly in love with her and I have a hard time being alone with her, if she needs me, I'll listen. I took my place back on the couch beside her. "What's up Ali? What's going on?" I asked with care.

"I need your advice. I like someone and I don't really know how to tell them." Ali said. I couldn't believe she was being so open and vulnerable with me. Ali D always had her walls up, around everyone, and rarely let out her own secrets.

"Well.." I said, pausing for thought, "you just have to show them that you care." I said, unsure of the right advice to give her. How can I give her advice on something that I'm having trouble with myself.

"I don't know if this person feels the same way. Sh-they. don't seem like they're into me like that. We all know how I feel about rejection" Ali said, with sad tone. Wait, did she almost say "she?" it was probably nothing, just a slip of the tongue. I shoved that thought to the back of my mind and another one came up. Who in gods name would reject Ali D. They'd have to be crazy! "What would you do if you were in my situation, Em?" she asked me innocently.

I thought about my reply for a moment. "If it was someone that I talked to a lot then I'd probably just kiss her. I'd grab her hand and hold it if we were walking together. I'd tell her how amazing  she is, and how pretty she is." I said, hoping I sounded convincing. I would never have the guts to do something like that.

Ali gave me a small smile. She sat there for a minute, and I could tell she was thinking about something. I waited to see if she had anything else to ask, but she started to get up. As much as I wanted to leave when she walked in, I was sad that she was the one leaving now. She turned to be and hugged me. "Thank you for helping me" she paused, "you're amazing." she whispered into my ear. Chills ran down my spine and butterflies erupted in my stomach. The hug lingered, then as she pulled away, she planted her lips right on mine. I pulled back quickly out of shock and Ali's face turned blood red. The Queen Bee doesn't get embarrassed. Ever. "Emily. You're the one I like. I should have told you before I did that. I shouldn't have just kissed you like that, you probably don't even see me like that. I mean we're best friends. I'm sorry that was so stupid." Ali said, quickly trying to leave to avoid any further embarrassment. Before she could get any farther away from me, I jumped up and grabbed her hand. I spun her around so quickly and crashed my lips into hers. Her kissing me first a second ago gave me the courage I needed. I flicked my tongue against her bottom lip asking for access. She let me in and our tongues crashed together like waves on the shore. We sat back down on the couch never breaking the kiss, and not even caring that we were in the library where people could see. Nobody comes here anyways.
