Sonia's POV
Lauren and I walked towards her house, her arms loosely hanging around my neck. Despite the circumstances, I was grinning widely on the inside. My idol had just invited me inside her home.
Once we made it inside, Lauren and I sat next to each other at the large, oak table in her kitchen. It could probably fit about 11 people.
Lauren gave me a glass of water before turning to face me. She took my hands in hers and gently stroked them with her thumbs.
"I really wish that I could let you stay here tonight. I just don't know if I'm allowed to." She said with a sad smile.
"I'll be okay. I knew I would have to go back eventually."
I sighed. I really didn't want to go back. I mean, who would?
I stood up and followed Lauren to her car. As I directed her to my house, I realized just how far I had ran. It took us about a half an hour. As we pulled off of Collins Ave, Lauren's eyes dilated as she caught sight of where I lived. My house is just off of Collins in South Beach. It's 10 000 square ft and pretty much sits right on the canal. I love living here. I just hate who I live with.
We pull up to the open gates to cop cars. I spot my mother crying to an officer on the front steps. My father keeps his distance from her. No surprise there.
Lauren parks the car and grabs my arm as I turn to get out. She yanks my phone from me and types in her info. She hands it back to me and looks into my eyes.
"I need you to call me if a n y t h i n g happens, okay?" She says, taking my hands in her own.
I smile and nod as she pulls me into a right embrace. I step out of my car to face my parents and for once in my life
