The three of you rested for another five minutes before it was time to go. Your leg was feeling better now, though it hurt every once in a while. You were a little afraid to look at it. It was burned because of the flesh monster, so there were more than likely some ugly marks left behind.
Mark helped you stand up while Cry went over to the door and opened it. He led the way into the dark, water logged hallway. The first door the three of you came upon was on the left side. The door was ajar, and soft, orange light spilled into the hallway. Cry went in first and scanned the room.
"Seems safe."
You and Mark stepped in the room after that. The room was faintly lit by candles that were going out, seemingly been lit for a while. A long work bench was on the wall opposite of you and multiple boxes were stacked randomly through the room. To your left was a ramp that lead up to a balcony, below the ramp were logs of wood. On the wooden balcony was a ladder that led up into the ceiling and out of sight. You stood near the door while Cry and Mark searched the room for supplies.
SPLASH
Oh not again...
You perked up at the sound of something splashing in the water. Where had it come from?
SPLASH
The hallway. Whatever was making that noise was in the hallway. You peered out of the doorway, what little light you had illuminating only a small portion of the corridor.
SPLASH
The creature or person was getting closer. You needed to do something fast. Whatever was out there, you couldn't see it. It was too dark and whatever the thing is, it was out of your little circle of light.
SPLASH
Right. Gotta warn the other two. You quickly pulled your head back in and shut the door. Mark and Cry looked up from whatever they were doing when they heard the door close. A quick nod was all they needed to know something was coming. The three of you grouped up in the middle of the room.
"Where should we hide?" You whispered to them.
"We could hide underneath the table?" Mark offered but it was quickly shot down.
"I'm pretty sure that's a water monster out there. Hiding under the table is gonna get us eaten. How about we climb the ladder?" Was Cry's response.
"We could also just jump on the table and wait for it to go away."
What do you do?
A: Hide under the table and hope whatever is outside isn't a water monster.
B: Climb the ladder.
C: Jump on the table and wait for it to go away.
Poll:
(A/N: Hello again! I'm gonna try a new thing with this series, and depending on whatever choice wins the vote, you might or might not see it in the next chapter. Again, it all depends on what you choose to do! Sorry this chapter was pretty short, it was more of a filler chapter so I can do what it is that I want to do. Oh, and I have been dropping tiny hints as to who the mysterious girl on the recording and the girl who pushed you in the cell is. Hehe, I'd give you cookies if you guess right but then people could just scroll through the comments and see if I gave anyone any cookies. They'd then know that whatever their answer was, was correct. Hope you enjoy this small update!)
