*Recap of last chapter*
When we got into the car I looked over at Nash "I'm not ready to go home yet," I whined. "Good because the date isn't over," he said with the cutest smile I've ever seen. What I liked the most about it was the dimple he had on his right cheek. Anyways, no matter how many times I tried to get Nash to tell me where we were going he wouldn't budge. Eventually, we pulled up in front of his house and this time I opened my door before he could. We walked to his front door, hand in hand, and he unlocked it. "You're going to have to meet my mom later, she's out of town on a sorority retreat." Nash said taking me into the living room.
"Hold on, Ima take my heels off," I said before using his shoulder as a sturdy structure. After I took them off I was about three inches shorter than before. I was really tall for a girl, maybe about 5'8, but Nash was 6'0 so I guess it didn't really matter. He picked up my shoes and put them by the front door, then we walked into his backyard. There a projector screen further back, little white lights were hung up on trees and around the screen. Then in the middle was a couch with tons of pillows, blankets, and a stack of movies on it.
"Nash this is so beautiful, did you do all of this?" I asked. "Of course, only for you." he said looking into my eyes. I was honestly so flattered, he's done so much just for me on the first date. I know knew that Nash had to be my boyfriend. I don't care what anyone thinks, first impressions were really important and so far he has made a damn good one. He walked us over to the couch and asked me to pick a movie. I chose Mean Girls because I love that movie and I didn't want the mood to get too serious. We were about half way through Mean Girls 2 before I felt my eyes grow heavy. And then I fell asleep
in Nash's arms.
Madison's POV (Natalie's mom)
I woke up around 8 am, and immediately realized that something was wrong. Natalie never came home last night. I went into extreme worry mode and called Natalie maybe about 50 times, but can you blame me? She is my only child. I couldn't eat or sleep until I knew where she was or if she was okay until she finally called me back at about 9. "Natalie Valentina Garcia Hughes, where the hell have you been?" I said, sounding more angry than worried. "I'm at Nash's house and last night I fell asleep while we were watching movies," she said. I knew she wasn't lying because when she does, her voice gets really slow and high. "Okay, as long as you're okay but next time please just tell me the change in plans," I said. "Okay mom, I'm sorry. I love you and I'll call when I come home." Natalie said before hanging up.
After putting my phone down and locking it, I could relax. I ascended the stairs and started making breakfast while thinking about how happy Natalie sounded.
Natalie's POV
After talking to my mom, I hung up the phone and put it on Nash's living room table. I think he might have carried me inside last night but I'm not too sure. The smell of blueberry waffles and bacon breaks me from my thoughts as I walk into the kitchen and see a shirtless Nash cooking breakfast."Good morning," I say with a smile but my eyes are trained on his toned torso.
"Hey, hey, my eyes are up here," he says while taking two quick strides over to me and lifting my chin up.
I feel my face flush with embarrassment and I reach to cover my face but Nash stops me.
"What did I tell you about covering your face?" he says with a playful smile.
"You were enjoying the view," I say, trying to mock his deep morning voice.
"Correct beautiful! Now come eat breakfast with me and Hayes." he says while guiding me to the kitchen.
I didn't notice until now that Hayes had been sitting at the dining table and had heard our whole conversation.
"Hi I'm Natalie," I say.
"Believe me, I know, Nash never shuts up about you." Hayes says with a laugh.
I feel millions of butterflies fly in my stomach while Nash blushes with embarrassment. Before I can question Hayes on what Nash says, Nash suggests we eat upstairs. He grabs my hand and we pretty much sprint upstairs and into Nash's room.
"This is quite an interesting first date, don't you agree Mr.Grier? I say in a British accent.
"Why yes, but I'm having the time of my life Ms.Hughes," Nash says with a wink and bites into his waffles.
Nash's POV
She is beautiful.
That was the only thing I could think about while looking at Natalie eat her breakfast. From her ponytail to her beautiful tan skin to her wrinkled black dress. It physically hurt me to see how uncomfortably she slept in that dress, but I would be un-gentlemen like to undress her without permission.
At this moment I know that Natalie is meant to be my girlfriend. I don't care if I have to wait twenty years or one week, I've never felt so strongly about someone before. I might've been staring for awhile because Nat looks up at me asked me what I was looking at.
"I'm looking at my future girlfriend," I said with a smile but I was being completely serious.
"Is that so? " she says after blushing.
"Well, I can only hope so," I say trying to convince myself.
