January 10th, 2005.
Dear Diary,
We finally finished unpacking. The flat is not so big but it is bigger than the one I lived in while in London. My mother and I needed a new town to start a fresh new life in. Holmes Chapel is an amazing place to start fresh. New people, new school, new me. I'm not so sure about the whole 'New School' thing. It's always hard for me to fit in. I only had one good friend back in London. His name is Charlie Harrison. Well, he was actually my boyfriend but over time the feelings just slipped away. I thought he could protect me and be there for me but he just ended up hurting me. That's one of the reasons why we decided to move to Holmes Chapel. I couldn't stand seeing his face everyday after what he did to me. At school, no one really payed attention to me. I would just be the regular girl with long brown hair and emerald green eyes. Nothing special. I always tried to look and be my best but I guess my best was never good enough. Anyways, tomorrow is my first day of school in Holmes Chapel. Its the middle of the second semester. I'm going to be the new girl but I hope I can make a good first impression.
Sincerely,
Isabelle Lily.
Isabelle closed her slightly used diary, got up off of her queen sized bed and walked towards the other side of her room where she kept all her books in a white bookshelf. She randomly selected the book that was closest to her and turned it around to read the title.
"Perfect Love" She mumbled.
'Perfect love? Something I had never had but I long for.'
Isabelle put the book back into the shelf and turned around, looking at her bedroom. She was proud of herself for setting it up the way she had. It looked amazing. All her books in a bookshelf in one corner, and her mirror and black table in the other.
Last but not least was her queen sized bed. She always thought it was too big for a tiny 17 year old like herself but her mother always loved spoiling her since she was an only child. She's not complaining but it was so big that she always felt lonely when she slept.
Isabelle's favorite part of her room are two doors. One that leads to her own bathroom, and her favorite door, the one that leads to her own balcony. She never had any of this in London.
Standing in front of her full body mirror, she looked at herself. Grey sweat pants and a dark blue hoodie. Hair down and no makeup.
The clock above her mirror reads '11:58 p.m'.
"Bell!" She heard her mother call from down stairs.
"Yes mother?" Isabelle replied, making her way down the stairs, going into the living room.
Her mother sat on the couch with a cup of tea in her hands, the television illuminated her soft face.
"I'm going to bed now. Is there anything you want me to do to help you prepare for your big day tomorrow before I go to sleep?" Isabelle's mother asked in a polite tone. She had always wanted everything to be perfect for Isabelle.
'She's the best mother anyone could ever ask for, but I think it's time that I start helping myself.'
"No thanks mother, you go on to bed. I'll have everything ready for tomorrow. Il'l be out of the house before you go to work." I replied.
She said as she gave Isabelle a warm kiss on the cheek. She turned the television off and went off to her room.
Isabelle ran up the steps and back into her room. She already knew what she was going to wear for tomorrow.
Isabelle laid all of the clothes she selected on her drawer and headed to bed.
Isabelle's phone suddenly buzzed on the nightstand. She reached over for it and clicked the home button. The bright light blinded her for a couple of seconds.
'1 new message from Charlie' the screen read.
Isabelle deleted the message without reading it. She just wanted him to be out of her life for good.
'I needed someone who would treat me right and love me. Hopefully i can just forget it all.'
