Dispensing Grace

“For everything, there is a season…”

God has His own timeline. He does and shows things in His terms. Grace came more than 2000 years ago but it is only now that we truly grasp its reality; its depth. I am not saying that we will be able to fully comprehend it but it is just now that we are enlightened by grace. It is like a wave, flooding those who meets its way.

As one who has experienced God’s grace, I was never the same. I’ve been a Christian for many years and sincerely kept my relationship with God. But when I truly and finally saw and experience His grace, a new light shone upon me.

God chose the way of the cross where mercy triumphs over justice because of love!

Those times that I tried so hard to keep my relationship with God, you know praying, reading the Bible, going to church; it is good that I do those things but if I do them not in the light of His grace, I will grow weary for they will become an obligation instead of  delight. Jesus did everything for us on the Cross. He is both TRUTH and GRACE.

No effort is needed from us but just the effort of accepting Jesus and letting Him take His residence in us. I rejoice in that; the knowledge that the love God feels for me will never change no matter how many times I fail and fall short. Nothing can diminish my value in His sight. I worth nothing less than the life of His Son.

I love living in this new light. Knowing that God’s love for me will never change gives me pleasure and delight to live for Him but not to gain points or approval but just to truly enjoy Him.

As I freely enjoy His grace, I found myself selfishly dispensing it. I am quick to judge other Christians who, at some point, failed. I blame them for  not experiencing God enough, for giving up, for not trusting His love. Then I realized that the love He feels for me is the same love He feels for them, for everyone actually. Even the most hated person in this planet is still deeply loved by God. We are quick to judge one person by what he does. But God judges us by who we are in Him. He created us to be loved and that purpose of His never changed.

Think about some people who are famous for their crimes, like Hitler, Saddam Hussein and maybe Judas Iscariot. I believe most of us, if not all, agree that they all went to hell. But what if in their dying breath, they accepted Jesus? Who knows? Only the Lord knows.

God doesn’t want anyone to be destroyed but He wants everyone to be saved. He will give everyone countless chances to choose Him. That’s His grace and may we freely dispense it.
