Chapter 1: Tears and Blood

Chapter 1

Inspector Akane has just missed shot at saving her friend Yuki Funahara. She witness with her own eyes Shogo Makimisha slitting her friends throat and then disappearing without a clue to where he is.

Akane's POV

There I sat on a the collapsible chair the ambulance had made me sit in. I had been wrapped in a blanket, I couldn't stop trembling.

"I let Yuki die without doing anything... I let yuki die without doing anything... I-"I repeated over and over until I felt someone lightly shove my shoulder immediately making me stop.

There I felt all my emotions pour out of me. Every part of me shook and tears filled my eyes. I looked up to see Kougami on a stretcher looking at me with a pained look.

"I met that man."I managed to say.

"That man?"He questioned me.

"Shogo Makimisha... He can't be judged ... By the dominator."I cried out. His eyes grew wide as the stretcher moved away.

I had no idea what was running through his mind but one thing I knew is that he wanted Shogo dead.

2 week later...

Kougami's POV

In no time I was released and let back into the office. I noticed that Akane spaced out a bit as Inspector Ginoza spoke.

She stared down at her coffee with a blank look on her face. So I rolled my chair near her and leaned in and looked at her face. I tried to figure out what she was thinking.

"Inspector?"I said as she immediately jumped up and spilled some of her coffee.

"Yes?!"She said quickly.

"You ok?"I asked.

"I'm fine."She said without looking at me.

I sat back in my chair and lit a cigarette as she wiped up the mess. I noticed that her hands trembled every time she tried to use them.

"Inspector Tsunemori! Are you paying attention?!"Ginoza yelled out as she looked up startled.

"Yes!"She responded firmly.

I decided to stop worrying about how she was acting and focused more on the case being assigned.

"There's been a recent increase in missing women. And it's been found to be connected to the Jack the Torturer case. Recently bodies of women have been found dumped in some parts of the city for the past 2 months. We've only just connected it to Jack the torturer because similar causes of death, and all the women have something in common..."Ginoza Spoke.

"And what's that?"Kagari asks with a curious smile like he knows the answer.

"There all entertainers."He said.

"You mean like Musicians?"Inspector Tsunemori asked as everyone laughed. She was so oblivious to what 'Entertainer' meant.

"Sure you can call it that!"Kagari joked as he laughed, confusing Akane even more.

"Quiet!"Ginoza Yelled as the room went silent. Akane just looked around confused.

"Inspector... By entertainer he means prostitute."I said to her as her cheek grew bright red with embarrassment.

"Oh!"She said as she drew her attention back to Ginoza.

"Anyways, our main objective is to infiltrate the 'entertainers' and go under cover. Since we're talking about female prostitutes here we need a women to go undercover."Ginoza said as Inspector Akane cut him off.
