What the hell am I doing? I sat in my car, parked outside Stray's. I can't do this, I don't want a man in my life...even one with the arms of a Greek God. Just as I'm about to turn on the engine and drive home, my phone rings. Callie "Hey girl, what ya up to today?" I've never lied to Callie and I'm not about to start. I quickly run through meeting Shannon yesterday and him asking me for coffee. C "Are you crazy? Get you're ass in that coffee shop or I'll come drag you in myself!"

Me "Callie, I don't know if I can." I couldn't hide the fear in my voice. C "Babe I know you've had a rough time in the past, but not all guys are bad news." I sigh, me "I know Cal, it's  just...." C "It's just coffee. If you don't like him, you never have to see him again." I know she's right, I have to start living my life and taking risks...but if I get hurt again..." C "Leigh? You still there?" Me "Yeah, I'm here." C "Well you shouldn't be." She scolded. C "Get yourself inside NOW!" Me "Yes mom." I giggled. C "Good." She tried to sound serious but I heard her voice crack. C "Call me when you're done." Me "OK." I admit the pep talk has helped. C "Oh and Leigh...make sure he wears a condom." Me "What?" And she's hung up.

I can't believe she said that...well actually I can. Ok I can do this. I take a second to check myself in the mirror, yeah I'll do. Grabbing my purse, I got out the car and straightened my clothes. It's the forth outfit I tried on this morning.

Stray's was busy as usual. I scan around quickly for Shannon, but no sign. He's not here. As nervous and unsure I was about coming, I can't deny I'm a little disappointed. Just as I turn to leave, I see Shannon walk out the men's room. Shit, I forgot just how hot he is. He's looking down at his t shirt and wiping what looks like a coffee stain. This is my last chance to turn and run, but before I can make a move, Shannon looks up and our eyes lock.

S "Hey, you came." It takes me a second to find my voice. Me "I...err...needed caffeine, so I thought I'd drop by." I try to sound casual, but I don't know if it works. S "Sorry about this..." He looks down at the coffee stain, pulling at his tee. He lifts it just enough, that I catch a glimpse of his stomach. S "Some jackass was in a hurry and not looking where he was going." I realise I'd stopped breathing. Me "Well at least it smells good." He smiles. S "You think I smell good?" He can't hide his amusement. Me "Yes...no...I...do you want to order?" Fuck.
