Forgive me

Your words were smeared with the stains of contempt,

You mocked at my tears and ridiculed my joys,

You sneered at my scars that were but inflicted by you,

But did you know I cry behind the door every night? You never knew...

I confess I feared much, feared my complains might distance you,

And your presence, it means much to me, I barely have anyone else,

And at least you were laughing, even if that meant laughing at me,

For a change, I liked it when I could bring a smile on someone's face...

I was tired of being a burden...

But I suppose, my smile didn't matter to you like yours did to me,

Our friendship was indeed a bond tainted with mockery,

And I suppose you've always perceived me as a victim of my fears,

I swear I wouldn't have judged you if I were in your shoes...I wouldn't have...

But again, may I blame you for all those times I cried, I can't...

You wouldn't have laughed at me if I had never let you in, I was such a fool!

And therefore, forgive this fool if she can't give you a place in her heart,

But this friend promises to you that she'll forever remember you in her scars...

Forgive me...
