Shadows

My heart hides them safe,

And these shadows, they hide me inside,

I sit trapped in their craters unseen,

And these shadows, they cloak me in their vice...

These shadows, they pretend before the world,

With the light, they change their disguise,

They fool me, they cheat!

And yet, I let them corrupt my mind...

Shadows, do not trust them,

With faint little whispers, they walk,

You wouldn't even know their moves,

While with their assaults, they make you numb...

Shadows, don't let them deceive you,

They will stay behind, but they aren't friends,

When the light in your life fades,

Then in your darkest times, they wouldn't defend...
