To celebrate the last day of school, maya decided to have the girls over for a sleepover. Luckily for her, all of her family were on a camping trip that she had refused to go on, so they had a free house. They had the whole night planned out and it all started when they left school at dinner to get an early start on the fun and banter awaiting them. When they all arrived at Maya's house, they raided the money stash for enough to order a takeaway to get the part started. By the time it had arrived, they were already on to the first stage of their nights fun. They opened the door, to see a pizza man looking at them in 100% shock. They were all in towels, as they had all just gotten out of their showers, and completely forgot who was on the other side of the door. Once the awkward situation was over, they ate their pizza and put stage 2 into place. They all put on their favourite party dresses, turned up the music and had a 4 person party, by the time they had finished dancing and singing to their favourite songs, it was 11:30 and time for stage 3. The movie marathon. The night before they had all chosen 2 of their favourite movies each to watch, and we're all excited to watch all 8 movies with sweets and popcorn. Half of the movies were horror and thriller, so there were many jump scares where they would all throw their popcorn in the air, creating a mess for Maya's parents to clean up the following morning. Unfortunately their movie marathon soon came to an end, as at 3 in the morning, they had a power cut and had to find something non electronic to do. After a while they decided to add 1 more stage, stage 4. They were going to play truth or dare. After a few easy dares and questions, the game became more intense, and made some of the girls feel uncomfortable. Being quite a dare devil, Kate chose dare, but what she was given was far from expected. They were using dares that people online were giving them, this time they told her to make out with the next door neighbours (which would mean cheating on her boyfriend), and Kate didn't like it. But after an hour of having all the people online peer pressure her into it, she finally did her dare and went next door to snog the geek of the school, no matter how bad she felt, she felt as though there was no other choice. After recovering from this, the girls carried on playing, and it was soon Maya's turn. Being as smart as she was, she decided that truth would be easier, at least that's what she thought. The question she read wasn't quite the type she expected. It read "do you know that you are adopted?", after reading that maya was left speechless and shook her head in astonishment.

Once she had recovered from reading it, she thought it must have been some joke, until she saw who had sent in the question, her 'brother'.
Now maya knew why she was so different compared to all of her other family there was one mission she knew she had to face alone,
She had to find her birth parents
She needed to know the story behind her and why they had left her
If she didn't she would go through life with unanswered questions that would haunt her forever.
