Thunderkit's Journey

Chapter 1

Thunderkit launched himself at Sunkit, "Got you!" he purred she squealed, and pushed him away , just at Goldenkit launched tumbled into him. Honeykit sat at the side watching them, she had just came back after visiting Cloudstorm, the med cat.  Copperkit and Berrykit tumbled around in the dirt. Thunderkit leaped onto Copperkit and batted his ears. "Copperkit! Berrykit! Come over here! You too are having your apprentice ceremony today. Do you want to go up in front of clan looking like a pair of loners?" Their mother Palemoon snapped. They were playing outside the nursery, a hole in the camp wall near the back of the camp, next to the med den. Above the nursery was the fresh kill pile, on a ledge. On the left side of the camp was the Apprentices and Warriors den, and on the right, the Elders and Leaders den. In the middle of the camp was a huge tree called high tree. On this tree was high branch, which was half way up and was where the leader did meetings and ceremonies.

Palemoon started violently grooming Berrykit as she ordered Copperkit to groom himself. Thunderkit sighed. He and his sisters were almost old enough to be  apprentices and kept being shooed out the nursery because Pidgeonflight was very close to her kitting. Copperkit and Berrykit were having their apprentice ceremony that day. Thunderkit tried not to show his jealousy, but Copperkit was his best friend and he wished that they could have their ceremony together, but Thunderkit was a moon younger. While he was distracted Goldenkit and Sunkit leaped at him knocking him over. They scuffed around in the dirt for a while longer.

Then, Skystar clawed her way up the tree to high branch and sat down, her tail dangling from the branch. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Highbranch for a Clan meeting" called Skystar Thunderkit leaped up and sat down, giving his chest a few nervous licks, Copperkit and Berrykit sat up tails thrashing.
"Thistlepaw, Nettlepaw and Fernpaw come up here please."
She turned to Thistlepaw " I, Skystar, leader of Featherclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn." Thislepaw's tail was twitching at the end "Thistlepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

"I do!" He meowed almost instantly

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Thistlepaw, from this moment you will be known as Thistlefrost StarClan honours your Initiative and Energy, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Featherclan. " Skystar rested her muzzle on the Thistlefrost's head, and Thistlefrost licks Skystar's shoulder.

She turned to Nettlepaw " I, Skystar, leader of Featherclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn." Nettlepaw was shuffling from left to right "Nettlepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

"I do!" He meowed excitedly

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name.Nettlepaw, from this moment you will be known as Nettleclaw StarClan honours your Courage and Honesty, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Featherclan. " Skystar rested her muzzle on the Nettleclaw's head, and Nettleclaw licks Skystars shoulder.

She turned to Fernpaw " I, Skystar, leader of Featherclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in his turn." Fernpaw sat up tall"Fernpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
