*Galadriel's POV*
I swiftly dismounted my horse and let her to the stable. After almost 2 days of constant travelling she was pretty tired and deserved some rest.
I was exhausted too. I mean, being an assassin could be pretty tough sometimes. Like that one time when I got to assassinate an emperor.
But enough about that, now I was finally home again.
"By Talos, I've missed this place" I thought with a smile as I poured up some water for Shadowmere before walking over to my house.
It wasn't anything too special, really. Just a large mansion in the middle of the woods that I share with my house carl and followers.
As soon as I put my hand on the door-knob I heard a dog barking excitingly from inside.
I smiled.
"I've missed you too, Bran" I thought as I opened the door. As soon as I entered Bran wasted no time jumping me. We both fell to the floor as he covered my face with wet licks.
"Haha! Bran, enough! Get o-off!" I giggled as I shoved the large Husky off me. He barked and wagged his tail at me before running off upstairs. After getting up from the floor and taking off my cloak I walked over to the kitchen.
"Welcome home, Thane" Lydia , my house carl , said with a smile as she continued to sweep the floor.
Lydia was a good house carl, even if she could be a bit ... strange sometimes. Like, sometimes she is just looking right through me. But I've seen stranger things , so I don't think of it too much.
"Man, I'm hungry as hell!" I thought as I put some butter on a piece of bread and poured up a mug of Nord Mead. I took the food to the library and grabbed a random book from one of the shelves. Turned out to be some book about the daedric prince Vaermina.
Whatever.
I started to read the book while now and then taking a bite of the bread. Halfway through the book I heard someone knock on the door.
"Woof!"
"Stupid dog" Lydia mumbled.
*knock knock*
"Okay, can someone take the door?" I called out.
"By the nine ...who could that be?"
I watched as Lydia slowly made her way towards the door as I rose from my seat.
It was a courier. A man, in his mid thirties by the looks of it, wearing a ragged, yellow tunic , brown pants and black boots. He had a small, brown, leather bag on his left shoulder, probably filled with letters.
"Um, hello. I am looking for a ... Miss Galadriel Stormblade. Is this her house?"
"It is. How can I help you?" I said from behind Lydia, one hand on my dagger in case he tried something funny.
He swallowed nervously as he put a hand on his bag and slowly opened it. He picked up a few letters from it and gave them to me one by one with trembling hands.
"I've got some letters for you, m-miss Galadriel. Uh... that one is from the jarl of Solitude"
"Uh huh" I mumbled as I gave that letter to Lydia.
"I can check them later, doesn't seem to be anything important"
"A-and .. this one is from ... uh... a friend of yours"
"Huh?" I thought, my ears perked up at the mentioning of "friend".
" Friend of mine, eh? Well this could be interesting"
"Whatever, just give me the rest of the letters and leave"
"O-of course, ma'am" He stuttered as he gave me the rest off my letters and walked off.
I grabbed the "special" note and noticed almost immediately that it was from the sanctuary.
"What the fuck do they want now?"
On the note it stood:
I grunted in annoyance and Bran gave me a questioning look as I quickly ripped the note in half.
"Idiots ... Can't they do anything themselves?!" I thought as I threw the rest of the letters to the floor.
As I moved over to the coat-hanger to grab my coat I heard a unhappy whine from behind me.
"Sorry Bran, but you can't come with me" I mumbled as I stepped outside.
As I closed the door I looked up at the sky and saw something that pissed me off even more.
Rainclouds.
"Great .. just GREAT .." I mumbled as I walked over to the stable.
Shadowmere was munching on some hay when she saw me coming towards her. She gave me a look that said "oh no, not you again" and took a step back.
"Sorry girl, but we have another mission" I mumbled as I swiftly sat up on her back.
And with that I rode off, going as fast as Shadowmere could before the rain started to fall.
"Man, sometimes I hate my job ..."
