I laid down on the bed with just my lower half exposed and watched as Jesse came over and sat down beside my legs.

"Are you ready for this?" He asked with a sigh.

"No, but it has to be done." I said as he placed his hand on my bare leg. "I just hope it works."

"What if he knew about it and already removed it...and -"

"Don't even finish that thought." I said angry that he would even think such a thing. "The only way he could possibly know about it...is if he had my entire medical history."

"I wouldn't put it past him." Jesse shrugged.

"Besides to do that he would have gotten to me before they examined me at the lab." I explained further. "And I don't know how he could have without me knowing."

"What if it was Dorian?" He asked as he began to examine me. "Because I'm not finding it."

"Mmm...that makes more sense, but he hadn't touched me in over a year." I said as I tried to relax as he moved his finger around inside me. "What are you trying to do?"

"I'm trying to find it still, but...I think I figured it out." He said as he grabbed the forceps and put them inside me. "Try to hold still."

"Mmm...fuck...easy for you to say." I said as I gripped the bed tightly.

"Got it...I think this is called a diaphragm." He said as he held up the dish shaped object.

"Definitely Dorian then." I said as I sat up and went to grab my pants.

"Andie...wait." Jesse said softly.

"Sarge, I might have a safer-more effective solution to our problem." Steven said as he grabbed one of Johnny's rifles. "We can get on the roof through the attic and kill most of them...if not all, then we can make a dash for your truck."

"See, I like that idea." Johnny said enthusiastically.

"Says the man that didn't want to kill them when we were at the cabin." I said as I loaded up a few of the handguns and a rifle of my own. "But if everyone is on board...I think that's a better idea."

"I don't have any objections." Melissa said before heading out the door. "Lead the way Steve."

"Jesse, now is not the time." I said as I ignored him and grabbed my pants. "I want to go check on Ashley."

"She doesn't want to see you right now." He said softly as if I needed a reminder. "And I think it would be best for you to leave her be."

"Jesse with all do respect, I'm going to check on her anyway and if she doesn't like it, so be it." I said as I pulled up my bottoms and headed towards the door. "I just need to make sure she's okay."

"You don't think we're safe yet, do you?" He asked before I headed out the door.

Steven lead us down another long corridor and looked up towards a large hatch in the ceiling.

"Fair warning, I have never actually been up there; so I have no idea what's in there." He warned before he pushed a small red button on the wall. "I think it might be a lab or something, but then again I can't really be sure."

We watched as the door slowly opened with a mechanical hum.

"Hopefully there is no crawlers up there or else we're screwed." Johnny said as the ladder dropped down. "Who wants to do the honor of going up first?"

"I will, then Steven, then Melissa, and then you." I said already halfway up the ladder. "That way you can cover him as he climbs."

"You know, I'm starting to think you like him more than me." Johnny said softly as he readied his weapon.
