Jordan's pov...
"I hate him" I spat out bitterly, referring to my dad.
"I completely loathe him, how can he do this to me, isn't being his son more than enough punishment. He gave my guitar and a few of my things out for charity, CHARITY! " I threw my hands up in the air in exasperation while pacing around my uncle's living room, voicing out my thoughts to him. I turned to look at him since I wasn't getting any side comments from him and to my surprise, he wasn't paying attention Whosoever his texting seems to be much more important than his own blood nephew.
"Hello? Uncle Vin? Nephew in need here" I snapped my fingers in front of his face, trying to draw his attention.
" I can hear you Dan and by the way, why did he kick you out?" He questioned, taking his eyes off his phone and lifting his eyebrows at me.
" I rather not say or it won't guarantee my stay here."I said, wishing he would change the topic. I didn't want him to side with my dad and then kick me out too. I liked uncle Vin and didn't want to leave him just yet. After my dad kicked me out, he also threw some of my clothes at me and I brought them here. I'll go shopping for more clothes later. Uncle Vin. was the first person I called for help and thankfully he came to my aid. Well, after I waited several hours for him to come pick me up.
" I'm intrigued." He dropped his phone on the coffee table in the living room, finally giving me his full attention.
"Well, you see, it's a short story that-" I scratched the back of my head, looking for a way to evade the topic, but thankfully I was interrupted by the smell of something burning, which was coming in from the kitchen.
" O LORD!" My uncle dashed into the kitchen in panic and I followed suit.
The smell was coming from the microwave and the whole kitchen was engulfed in smoke. Turns out, my uncle forgot his lunch in the microwave. I chuckled a little. Now I won't have to answer his question. Saved by the microwave.
"Guess, I'll have to make lunch for both of us" my uncle sighed in disappointment as he dumped the burnt food into the trash can.
" You cook?" I questioned in disbelief. All the years, I've known him, he never mentioned or said he anything about him cooking.
"Yeah, I do. I make almost all the best dinner specials at my hotel. People can't enough of my food." He said with a big grin.
" Okay, I have to go take a shower right now, I smell like wet dog" I have taken a shower all morning, no thanks to his little brother.
I hurried upstairs to my room which my uncle said I could stay. I took my clothes off and decided to take a bath instead.
As I was soaking away my troubles, I began to think why my uncle will willingly let me stay with him. "Mi casa, es su casa" I remembered what he said over the phone when I called him. He didn't hesitate at all. Hmmm... maybe he misses his nephew so much or maybe he's just lonely. I think his lonely. Living alone in a big house like this gotta be lonely sometimes. I wouldn't blame him for being that way, ever since his wife died along with his unborn son, he hasn't been the same. He cut ties with everyone including me, up until now.
" I swear, when I get my own house, you're so going to be my chef" As soon as I finished bathing, I got dressed and rushed down for brunch. My uncle's food was the best meal I have ever tasted in my life. The word delicious would be an insult to his food.
" Nah, no thanks I already love my job as Wood's hotel manager." he said slightly flattered.
" You sure? I could pay you millions?" I tried to convince him
"No thanks. Speaking of my hotel, I need your help with something and just think of it as a favor " he stopped eating and stared at me to see my reaction. I kept on eating. I wonder where this is going.
"The person I was texting earlier happens to be one of my close workers. He'll be off-duty for a while due to food poisoning and some urgent family issues" he took a bite out of his chicken teriyaki and kept waiting for my response or reaction. I kept on chewing.
" I'm also expecting a very important guest at my hotel by tomorrow night. So, I need you to fill in for him as a driver"
"A WHAT?!" I shrieked and also choked myself to death.
