Stiles was with Isaac, Peter, and Derek near the bank where the alpha pack and their imprisoned friends were.
"Are you sure they're here?" Derek asked him.
"Just for once, trust me."
They saw the alpha pack leave.
When they were far enough away, they went back inside, but he had barely taken two steps inside when he had a vision. The alphas were coming back.
"Stay close to me."
"But…"
"Derek. Please."
They listened to him. He surrounded them with rowan.
"So smart."
He looked at the alpha of alphas.
"Deucalion."
He saw the surprise on his face.
"I didn't think I was so famous," Deucalion said.
"You're not the only one I know." Ennis, Kali, and the twins Ethan and Aiden.
"And do you know, my dear young man, what we want?" Deucalion asked him.
"At first, Derek because you like his mother, even though you didn't listen to him about that bastard Gerard Argent and it cost you your eyes. But soon, it will be the former emissary of Kali's pack. Julia Baccari, the darach."
He saw the surprise on all their faces, then he saw Deucalion smile.
"I've never seen one, but I know that aura. You are a high-level druid, a sage. A wolfman."
"He seems so."
"So young and so brilliant. Your pack is lucky to have him, Derek Hale. What's your name, young sage?"
"Stiles Stilinsi."
"Stilinsi like the sheriff?"
-Yes, Ethan. The sheriff is my father.
-How do you know it's me, Ethan?
-Sorry, but I'm going to keep that secret.
He saw the young wolf smile.
-What do you want, young Stilinski, for your information? Deucalion asked him.
-That you free the three betas from Derek's pack and let them all go.
-We're not leaving you, Stiles, Peter told him.
-Just this once, listen to me. And also, Deucalion, I want you to give the twins the right to be teenagers like any other. I know you saved their lives, but it would be nice if they made friends, lovers, without it being a plan. Don't you think they deserve to be happy as well as powerful?
-You have a pure heart.
He wanted to laugh because it wasn't just his heart that was pure. But he'll keep that to himself, even those in Derek's pack already know that.
"Give me time and I'll give you back your eyes," he said.
"How?"
"A sage is a high-level emissary. Their abilities are far superior to those of an average druid. I'm young and I've only just learned who I am, but within a year, I think I can help you, and know that I never go back on my word."
"I believe you."
"Are you done talking, Deucalion?" Ennis said, his fists clenched. "If we could move on to destroying..."
The blind wolf had just struck the other alpha.
"Idiot! Are you deaf? Haven't you heard that this boy is a sage?" He may be pure of heart, but if we touch his pack, his anger will be so terrifying that I'd rather not be his enemy. So we'll change our plans and follow young Stilinski's.
"What? But..."
Ennis was hit again.
"Do I have to kill you for you to finally shut up?! Twins, Kali, go get the betas."
"Isaac."
"Yes, Stiles."
"Get behind Peter and Derek. They're going to need backup."
"Cora," Derek and Peter said at the same time.
"Batman."
He smiled with tears in his eyes.
"My Catwoman."
"He had saved her. His wolf was alive."
"They can go," Deucalion said.
He handed Isaac his keys.
"Take my Jeep. They'll be more comfortable than in the Camaro."
"But you?"
"I'll manage."
"Stiles."
"Trust me, cub."
"I've always trusted you."
He smiled at him.
"Go."
He broke the rowan tree.
He remained on guard until the wolves had left, but Deucalion kept his word.
"It's not luxurious, but come sit down."
"Thank you, but with all due respect, I don't want to stay too long."
"I understand."
"Here."
He handed him a map.
"The nemeton is over there." The darach, Jennifer Blake, formerly Julia Baccari, will become a literature teacher at my high school. From this day on, the murders will begin. And there's no way she's taking power. So you have until the start of the school year to take care of it, or I will.
"Don't worry, young sage. We'll do it."
"When it's done, leave. Don't touch my pack, and within a year, come back and I'll give you your eyes back, Deucalion."
"I accept, but on one condition."
"I'm listening."
"Take care of the twins for me."
"Deucalion? But..." Aiden began.
"Young Stilinski is right, you deserve to be happy."
"I'll take care of them."
