Stiles held Ethan's hips as he followed him on his motorcycle. They arrived in front of his house.
He got off and handed him his helmet.
"Thanks for the ride. It was my first time on a motorcycle."
"Did you enjoy it?"
"Yes."
"Good. I have to get back. See you in class then?"
"Yes. Also, tell Deucalion I think I know where you and your brother could live."
"Okay. Thanks."
"You need to get phones."
"We'll do that."
With a wave, the young alpha left.
As soon as he couldn't see him anymore, his legs gave out. He collapsed to the ground.
He had wanted to appear strong, but now he was on edge.
He heard the sound of his jeep.
"Stiles!"
Isaac was quickly in front of him.
-Hey, wolf cub.
-Are you okay? Didn't they do anything to you?
-No, don't worry, it's just that my nerves snapped.
He dropped his head against the wolf's chest. The wolf hugged him.
-I was really scared for you, Stiles. Peter drove to the loft. I was too agitated.
-Did you manage to pull yourself together?
-It was Erica who calmed me down. She's dying to see you again.
-I want to see her too.
-Then let's go to the loft.
-Is Derek going to hit me?
-It's possible. Okay, definitely.
He smiled against the wolf's chest. He grabbed the front of the wolf's jacket.
-Can you help me up? I'm afraid I can't do it alone.
"Sure."
Isaac helped him up. He was still in his arms.
"Stiles?"
"You're all warm. It's relaxing. Can I rent you to be my teddy bear?"
He heard the wolf laugh.
"Whenever you want."
"Okay. Let's face the alpha's wrath."
"He barely had time to get back into the loft before he was smacked upside the head.
"Hey! Easy, big alpha! I'm human. I break and don't heal."
"If you'd stop doing such dangerous things, I wouldn't hit you."
"Aren't you happy to see them again?"
"I am. But how would I have faced your father if the alphas had killed you after we left?"
"Didn't you hear Deucalion? My anger can be terrible, and above all, I'm a wise man, a wolf. Those who know this won't harm me. And Deucalion, despite his great power, is a man of his word. Speaking of which, I have the agreement to take care of the twins, so I thought that since you live all alone in a huge building…
"Okay, I understand. Then I could keep an eye on them."
"You understand everything. Fine. Can I go see your beasts?"
"Not yet," said Peter.
Peter hugged him tightly, but not painfully.
"Thank you for giving us Cora back."
"You're welcome. I'm glad you've found a member of your family."
Being in Peter's arms made him feel like a little boy in his father's arms.
When the wolf let go, he noticed her bright eyes, but he didn't say anything, they just smiled at each other.
He then went over to the wolf. He could barely get in front of her when Erica pulled him into a hug. He hugged her back.
"My Batman."
"My Catwoman. How I've missed you."
"You too. Derek told us that if you hadn't had that vision, I would be..."
"Don't say it. You're here. You're with me and against me. That's all that matters."
They stayed like that for a while, then he went over to Boyd. Boyd squeezed his left shoulder tightly, but gently, and gave him a smile. That said it all.
"Miss Hale, nice to meet you."
"Me too. Stiles, right?"
"Yes."
"Thank you for bringing me back to my family."
Cora hugged him.
"I'm glad I was able to."
He then straightened up.
"Were you able to call your parents?" he asked Erica and Boyd.
"Yes, and we lied your way," his wolf told him.
"What do you mean?"
"We went camping, but then we had car trouble, then where we were there was no signal, then we got hurt, on the way back we had car trouble again, and then, since we were near our friend's house who had given us his camping gear, we stopped to return it. He offered us lunch with him, then we'll be back early in the afternoon.
"You've taught me well, Catwoman. You sound like a grown-up."
His wolf smiled at him.
"And what did your parents say?"
- After the anger of not hearing anything, they were happy that we weren't serious, but they were upset with the authorities where we were for not contacting them. But most of all, they were dying to see us.
-Okay. So if I understand correctly, you two...
He pointed to Erica and Boyd.
-...you're going home early this afternoon, and for the three of you...
He pointed to the Hales.
-...it'll be a family reunion.
He looked at Isaac.
-Cub Scout. How would you like to come to the Home?
"With pleasure."
"Can I see another hug, Batman?"
He crouched down beside his wolf. He planted kisses everywhere on her face except her lips. He heard her laugh. She was very much alive. He held her tight. He could erase one of her morbid visions. He breathed deeply.
"Thank you for being alive, Erica. I couldn't have borne losing you."
"I should have listened to you and given Derek another chance. But now that I'm back, thanks to you, I'm going to. That is, if my alpha is willing."
"Of course I am. You and Boyd are still part of my pack."
"Thanks, Derek," the two betas said.
His phone rang. It was his father.
He sat up and answered. Finally, he could barely say "Hello."
"Any problems, Stiles?" Isaac asked him.
"Deaton called my father. I have to go to Master Yoda's. Is it really possible my father will strangle me for wanting to leave alone?"
"I can help him," Derek said.
"You're so sweet to me. It's so touching."
He heard the laughter of Erica, Isaac, Boyd, Cora, and Peter, as well as Derek's grunt.
"I'll leave you. Isaac, come anytime."
"See you later," Derek said with a big smile.
He looked at the three betas he had managed to save, then left.
