-Lights down, the mood is right... "All The Places (I Will Kiss You)" Aaron Hall

Chapter 13

Her lips were soft. He wasn't surprised. He had been hoping that they were as soft as they looked. He could feel the rapid movement of her chest against his own when their lips met. Her hands planted on his chest balled into fists, crumpling the fabric of his hoodie in her hands.

She smelled like laundry detergent with a little hint of sugar. He released the grip on her arm and brought his hand to the back of her neck. He turned her head a bit more, angling it so that he could press closer. She gasped, not expecting him to touch her skin.

And then he was really kissing her. His tongue slid across her parted lips and she closed her eyes. He ran his teeth lightly over her bottom lip, fulfilling a fantasy that had plagued him every time he saw her. She made a soft sound in her throat. Her mind went blank. The hand he had on her lower back morphed into him wrapping his arm around her waist.

They kissed and kissed. Her breath hitched as he leaned in closer. He turned his head, angling it to the side as he ran his tongue over hers.

She began to stretch, lifting herself up on her tiptoes. Her grip on his hoodie tightened. The hand he had on her neck squeezed gently.

"Wyatt..." She mumbled breathily in between his parted lips running over hers.

He slipped his hand up her hoodie, his fingertips brushing at the skin of her side. She gasped, the feeling of his warm palm touching the skin of her lower back bringing her back to reality.

As she began to break away he got in one last peck, his lips settling over hers softly. She pulled back, stumbling as if she were drunk.

She wrapped a hand around her mouth, her eyes wide as she looked at him. Oh no. Absolutely not.

As she looked at him in the dim light she noticed the sleepy, contented look in his eyes and the subtle gleam of his lips. The front of his hoodie was crumpled and stretched.

"That didn't happen," she whispered through her hand.

He smiled at her, his lips spreading over his teeth slowly. "Yes, it did."

"It didn't." She repeated. "And it won't happen again."

He shrugged but the smile on his lips stayed in place. He reached down to pick up his bag and hers. He shrugged his on and before he could hand hers over to her, she reached for it. She quickly grabbed it from him with shaky hands and began to walk. She didn't wait for him.

She practically ran the rest of the way to her dorm, not stopping to look back or wait for him to catch. A part of her hoped that he didn't follow her at all.

As she got to the building, she tried to hurry to the door but his arm flew past her, his hand lying palm first against the door.

She didn't want to look at him, she was still filled with butterflies and a trembling kind of anxiety.

"I have practice tomorrow, there's a game on Thursday so we're gonna do extra drills. Let's meet on Tuesday, we can use the computer lab in Wesley, it's usually quiet there after 3. Let me know what time works for you. Ok?"

She blew out a breath, "Okay. That works."

"Good night," he mumbled as he stepped back and began to walk away.

Tia sighed, pulling out her student to swipe the door open before she froze. She quickly turned around, her eyes landing on his retreating back in the darkness.

"Wait," she said, "You told me you were going to tell me something you've never told anyone before."

He stopped walking, turned around and grinned. He began to walk backward before saying, "I'll tell you next time."

She frowned, "You asshole."

He laughed as she turned around and pulled the door open. As she walked in he called behind her, "You know you like it."

*And this is where I stopped. Originally, like every other writer, I had dreams of becoming a professional author. Life, capitalism, and an assortment of other things have gotten in the way. This isn't necessarily my "Hey, guys, I'm back!" But more so a showing of the rewrite I began for this story and never finished.

This was, admittedly, one of my favorite pieces that I was working on and I was incredibly excited to finish it. I had dreams of maybe self publishing it in hopes of it becoming my breakout thing! But now... I'm an adult who has lost her dreams. I will probably never finish this. Same with many of my other works. The dream has been crushed, reality is much too taxing. But I hope you enjoy this rewrite and the few new chapters of it (4-12) that I never had the opportunity to show during this novels first conception.

If I do return one day, I guess it would be up to whether or not ya'll want my crappy writing to grace your screens again. Ado, Wattpad... maybe. I don't know anything at this point (lol).*
