A Strange Object

Megatron came in a few minutes later to brief me on my first mission on my own. "The scouts have reported a strange glow in the mountains where the Harvenger touched down. I'm sending you, starscream and Bruticus to check it out. If anything seems too suspicious, come back here. I don't need anything else going wrong." I went to the control room afterwards. I wanted to see this "strange glow" for myself. It sounded familiar from somewhere but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe primus has something in store for us when we get there. The others filed in and Soundwave activated the bridge. I ran at the bridge, yelled, "Last one there is a rotten egg," and transformed before I reached the other side.

I've seen this place before. The erupting volcanoes hundreds of miles away to the east and seas of desert to the west. Right in front of us was the towering mountain named after the one Autobot who survived the crash and told the tale, Ultra Magnus. He's dead now but the name still stands to this very day. He boarded the ship buried within this rock on Cybertron and killed most of the Decepticons. The pilots fled when they reached Earth's atmosphere and the Harvenger crash-landed into the mountain. All of the energon on board exploded and the only one who escaped before that was Ultra Magnus. "It's a horror film of its own coming here. So many dead Decepticons it's unreal."

"Look there Stargazer, the light Megatron was speaking of." I gazed at the light for a few moments and started walking toward it. The others followed me and hoped I knew what I was doing. I stopped and summoned sandstorm. She scanned the area and found out that the object that was creating the light is cloaked from scanners. I have to see it in person to find the truth.

The light was brighter up close and more mysterious is the shape of the object creating the light. It was almost the shape of a Cybertronian spark but bigger and it had something on it. It looked like... "What did you find stargazer? Is it one of us?" "Would you just shut up and let me think?! Seriously go do something that doesn't annoy me!" I heard them leave and silence fell on the clearing. It was just me and the familiar object.

As I got closer, the energon readings on the object got larger. I wonder what this is. I was right in front of it when something pushed at my mind. A memory came up on the visor screen. It was a forgotten memory. It was of me saving Optimus with this object. Does that mean he's dead again? No, it can't be, Megatron went after him before I left to find this. "Welcome Stargazer, to this worlds Vector Sigma. It has been hidden for thousands of years and we call upon you to take its treasure, the Matrix of Leadership. We believe you are worthy of this artifact however, it cannot make you the prime you once were. It has an allspark fragment that cancels out the effects of the matrix. The only thing it can do for you now is keep you alive even when your spark chamber is empty of your spark." "Who are you?" "We are the ones who created this Vector Sigma; the original twelve primes who saved this world. Even though your ancestor was our lost brother, we believe it is time for the matrix to be absorbed by the descendant of our fallen brother; you. Your family is the only one who can see him for who he is. The Decepticon side however, thinks of him as a superior. You don't have to worry about him now. Optimus destroyed him years ago..." there was a higher pitch voice from somewhere else, maybe the matrix. "Please, protect Optimus and your loved ones at any cost. He is everything to me and the other Primes who died for his survival and to protect this matrix. Protect them with your life." "Zeta prime, thank you for your history lesson, I enjoyed it. If you'll excuse me, I have to return to Megatron." As I left, I kept hearing, "Protect your loved ones stargazer. They are going to be the only thing that can help you for the unthinkable." I kept running that through my head until I was at the border that kept this place hidden. "Be warned Stargazer, once you insert the matrix, all of your memories will be forgotten. That matrix will be the only thing that can save you from what lies beyond this barrier now. Your spark has been overgrown by dark energon and the light energon cannot mix with it fast enough to make black energon, the lifeblood of you. The matrix will not make you a prime. Instead, it will balance out the light and dark energon so it can mix at its normal rate. Good luck." Lazerbeak heard all of that and didn't even notice that I noticed him. Most of what the primes said was a lie anyway to trick him. He went back to the direction of the Nemesis to show Soundwave.
