Chapter 2 - New Friends

Hey minna! Sorry for not updating in forever, I've been training for soccer tryouts coming up and honestly I've been really lazy... this chapter might make some of you cry but it depends on the person and if my writing is good, so just a heads up! Anyways enough with the A/N read on!  (not edited)

Lucy's Pov

"How's your pathetic little life been while I was away, hmm?" I hear my father's shoes clack against the floor as he walks over to me. I don't look up at him as he leans down towards me. "You insolent child answer an adult when they talk to you!" He yells at me.

"I-Ive been good father..." I whisper quietly but loud enough for him to hear me. "Thank you f-for asking," I try to hold back my sobs so I don't anger him any further.

"Don't you have any respect?" He harshly grabs the sides of my face bringing me up to his so were eye to eye. "You look me in the eye when you talk to me! Do you understand?"

I can smell the alcohol searing from his breath as he talks, and I shut one eye in pain as the disgusting smell burns my nose. "Yes father I-" I sniffle and gag from taking in more of the smell. "I'm sorry I understand," is all I can wheeze out.

I see a smile spread across his pale face. "Good, now be a good girl and clean this mess up."

He lets go of my face and I drop back down to my knees.  I look around to see what mess he could be talking about. I suddenly feel a cold wet substance on my head and it pours down my face and onto the floor below me.  It doesn't take me long to figure out he had poured the remainder of his beer on me.  So this is the mess I have to clean up. I stand up and walk over to a closet nearby and pull out a mop with a broom and dustpan. I turn around and see my father walking away and into another part of the mansion. Before he leaves I see him turn back around and look at me.

"While you're at it, why don't you clean this to?" He asks, but it sounds more like a command. He lifts the arm with the beer bottle in it and throws it on the ground near my body and glass shatters everywhere. I feel a sharp pain in my cheek and on my upper arm, but I don't cry out cause I know it will only result in more cruel work and verbal punishment. He then walks away and when I see he is no longer in sight, I crash back down to my knees, gaining some more cuts in the process, and cry.

As I silently cry to myself, I hear more footsteps walk over and I tense thinking it's my father, but I look up and see Spetto with her hand over her mouth and tears forming in her eyes. I look back down ashamed to look her in the eye.

"Miss Lucy!" She rushes over to me, "are you alright?"

Murderers don't deserve such kind people like Spetto and Levy to worry about them.

"I'm sorry," I whisper. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" My voice gets a bit louder, "I don't deserve your worries! I don't deserve your love and kindness! I don't deserve you and I don't deserve to live!" I almost yell that last word.

That's right, I don't deserve to live.

I could just end it all ..

All this guilt..

This pain..

This suffering..

I could die here now and not feel any of these emotions anymore.

I should die.

My thoughts are suddenly stopped and my eyes go wide when I feel two warm arms wrap around my shaking body.
