I ran into the woods, happy for the cover. I ran until I reached the edge of the trees when I smelled blood. It was very fresh, my wolf growled and pushed to get out. I followed the scent and hid behind a patch of thickets. It was definitely coming from here , I thought to myself. I was looking at the back of a huge house, it looked like it was 5 or 6 story's high . Made completely of logs and dark rock. It had smoke from the chimney and ivy going up the sides. A pair of ivory French doors sat along a huge wooden deck. I stared for a bit before a noise startled me. A group of men walked out of the house with shotguns in hand. I could easily pick up what they were saying, "I heard a rumor in town today that said there was a white wolf in the woods, there is a reward for her skin but if she's alive they will pay us each 200k and from a town like this that is major money if I do say so myself!" A tall, chubby , man said with a grin. His buddy replied , " I heard about that but I don't believe it, but my alph- i mean boss said that if we find her to kiddnap her and make the Feds pay us. So we capture any female we want and bam we could demolish the choices. " he grinned, I barely understood him cause he was drunk but I got the feeling I should leave. All at once time seemed to freeze, my wolf shifted quicker than lightning and my hiding place may as well have been clear, the men looked at my wolf and just as I bolted they had their guns trained on where I had been. I ran scared for my life, the spun of footprints was replaced by the very close sound of paws hitting damp earth. That's weird, I thought. I listened and turned my head to look a little when a bear jumped out and grabbed me. I bit the bear and growled fighting him off without pause. The bear dropped me and swung a massive paw at me. The bear hit me, hard with the tip of his claw and a gash opened in my side. I jumped for his head but he ducked. I hit a tree and slumped down, I heard a sickening crunch and the bear went silent. I took a breath and froze, a wolf was here with me. I felt the wolf move closer and whimper. I opened my eyes and tackled the wolf. Just as I looked into the wolfs eyes I knew who it was. I stared down in disbelief, the wolf licked my snout,' Kylie' I mind linked her. She gave me a goofy-wolf-grin and replied 'I totally kicked his butt ' she gave a snort and I rolled off of her. She looked at my side and gave me a worried glance. 'I'm fine ' I mind link and then we head home . She tells me that when I didn't come back for a bit she was worried and came after me. We walk up to the front door and once we enter i stand there a moment Kylie shifted out of her gorgeous black wolf with white tribal markings. I Shift and that's when I realize how much blood I lost. Adrenaline helped me get here but now I'm all out, I stand there and stare out the door, grant and his friends see us and then everything went black.
