Chapter Seven

When you look at the mistakes you did when you were young, they were simple. Now, when you get older they get worse. Some you never learn from. -NN

KYLE'S POV 

"Because..I like you Lettum. More than a friend." I lie.

"I...Kyle...Why....Thanks?...." She says looking taken back. 

Thanks? Really? 

"I'm sorry I know I made this awkward. It's just since I met you on the first day of my internship I've really liked you and I have been wanting to ask you out but I haven't been man enough and when you said you were going to lunch today I thought I'd join you because I really wanted to let you know and see if there was a slightest chance that you could return the feelings back?" I baffle. God, if she says no I'm dead.

"To be honest with you Kyle I haven't even thought about you in that way. But, Don't think that I'm saying I wouldn't give it a shot. You seem like a really decent guy and to top that you are very attractive. I'm not saying we'll hit it off  but I'm willing to give it a shot. No harms done in trying right?" She smiles. 

"Wha.. Really?" I knew it.

"Really." She's a fool. 

"You aren't doing this because you feel obligated to right? Because if you really don't want to you don't have too."  

"No, I'm not. I really want to give you a shot." she laughs a little at my nervousness. Before I can respond the Waitress  brings our food. 

"You are gonna love the food its amazing!" She squeaks. 

After our meal we head back to work. Lunch was fine, actually the food was amazing as she said  and we got along great but during  our conversation I couldn't help but notice the nervous little movements she did every time we talked about her personal life. Maybe she doesn't like to talk about it, I'll take a mental note about that.  

As we enter the double doors of our work I decide it's time to ask her. 

"So listen, I was wondering if you would like to join me on a double date this Sunday afternoon..?" 

"A double date? With who?" She slightly tilts her head to the left. 

"With a really close friend, His name is Haz, He got involved with this chick and wanted me to go on a double date with him but I told him I didnt know because I didn't have anyone, but if you join me then...."  

She smiles "I'd really like that, pick me up and we can go. Here is my number and address." She says taking out a piece of paper and pen. 

"Thank you, See you soon Lettum. I had a wonderful time today." I smile.  

"See you soon Kyle." she says before turning around and walking up to her office. 

When she is out of earshot and out of sight I take out my phone and head out. 

I dial the number. 

"Hello, Yeah this is me. Yes, I got her to go out with me. And I'm ready to do whatever it takes to take her down."
