The Reaping

Katniss everdeen POV:

I froze... Did you guys just...!!? Prim looked terrified. I gripped where my bow should have been. Damn you gale I thought remembering he took it and placed it in a log. My fist tightened. My eyes furiously glided toward rory who looked like he wanted to smile. Rory was adorable to bad I'm gonna have keep him from prim... Yet I just didn't know how. I stood there thinking to my self before mother everdeen walked in and told us to get dressed the reaping was in three hours. By twelve-o-clock gale came in while we were sitting down eating breakfast. Where's ro.... Really dude? He wanted to smack rory. I saw it in his 'dude-your-stupid look,. Rory quickly looked up and looked back down at the food on his plate like it accused him of something.

Rory Hawthorne POV:

It was all I wanted was To kiss her again. In front of gale, in front of katniss, in front of mrs.everdeen. I wanted to tell everyone that I had kiss her. I wanted to see that innocent look in her eye up close. Feel the touch of her lips. Wrap my arms around her waist and pull her close. But I only dreamed.

By three o clock the reaping had begun and prim was couple feet away from me, in the section of girls her age. Katniss and Gale gave me a glare through out the entire speech. I guess gale was up to speed. Then a complete silence arose. No birds, wind, leaves or animals made any noise. It sounded as if the world has died. A wind whistled though the anxious crowd. Effie carefully place her bedazzled Capitol hand in the bowl. She rummaged a little. PrimRose Everdeen! She exclaimed breaking the silence. Prim looked up. I was just about ready to cry. "I VOLUNTEER!" Katniss pops out of no where prim froze she looked like she didn't want to get off stage. Gale picked her up and took her away. She tried to fight but couldn't get out of his lock. I ran up to the side of the stage with prim. "Katniss... No you don't have to do this!" Prim choked looking up at katniss. She couldn't stop crying. Then I look at haymitch.

Primrose POV:

I looked at rory. He pulled me in to a hug, in front of everyone. "I love you prim." He whispered. That wasn't Hard to believe. Katniss stood on stage with a poker face look in her eyes. Effie pulled out another slip. "Peeta Melark!" She cheered. "Peeta! No!" I thought. He walk silently on to the stage with a frightened look on his face. Rory pulled me away so I wasn't looking. "Let's give a cheer for the DISTRICT 12, 74th hunger games tributes!" Effie cheered. Then she lead katniss and peeta were lead off stage and the entire district was left just staring at me and rory... The entire district held up three fingers with their pinkies down, our signature district salute,And they went home.. Mrs. Everdeen walked off with a stern look on her face.
