S3 E14

"Come on, girls! Let's go! Let's go! Let's go! Come on," Miss Abby says as we all file into Studio A. We line up like we always do.

"Congratulations. Another good weekend," Miss Abby says, and we all clap.

"You were the overall high score junior group. That's important. That's where we wanted to be. We wanted to be number one."

She wastes no time. "Let's get to the pyramid. I'm going to start on top, because that's easy."

Miss Abby flips the top headshot. "Maddie, you were the overall high score. I gave you a job — to lead your sisters and make sure they could keep up with you. And that's what you did. You took charge."

She flips the next picture. "And next on the pyramid is Maci. Same for you. You led your sister, and that's what I asked," she says, and I smile.

"And next on the pyramid, Paige." We all clap. "You did a great job. It was darling," Miss Abby says. I'm happy for Paige.

"Next, Kendall. Kendall, you were third place overall. Hey, it wasn't second — thank goodness," Miss Abby says.

"We have Chloe. Chloe, you were the first overall high score in the junior solo division."

"And next, Nia. Now, Nia, once again, you flew under the radar. You didn't draw my eyes — in a negative way," Miss Abby adds.

"Next, Mackenzie. I will stand by my decision that you should not have been in the group number."

I'm surprised she's not where me and Maddie are on the pyramid. I mean... we did win.

"And next, finally, Brooke. Brooke, you're here because you obviously didn't dance. You had a nice little vacation," Miss Abby says.

Then she flips a new photo. We all stare at it. I wonder who it is.

"We have a new member of the team. She made the commitment, and now Asia will be joining the Abby Lee Dance Company," Miss Abby announces.

Asia? I met Asia before. She's a firecracker.

"She was a contestant in the Ultimate Competition I judged this summer. Her mother signed the same contract you all signed. She is here for the duration. She wants my tutelage. I do not think there's enough competition among us. I don't think you challenge each other enough," Abby says. "And I want to warn you... I don't want to hear one word about anybody chasing this woman out."

Then she pauses and says, "Now, we are going to Energy Dance in Highland, Michigan. And I know for a fact... the Wicked Witch of the West and her crappy little Apples are going to be there. You are reigning national winners for Energy Dance, you cannot walk in there this weekend and be anything less."

"We are doing a group routine, and the title of the routine is Return to Grace. This is a very mature piece, it's about reincarnation." Abby looked around the room. "That group routine will be without Mackenzie and without Asia."

"I have a trio, and my trio is going to Kendall, Maddie, and Chloe."

"Yay!" the three girls said, and we all clapped for them.

"This is a jazz trio. It's high energy. It's called We Believe," Abby added.

"And I have two solos. One will be going to Asia, she'll be competing in the mini division. And my other solo will be going to Maci."
