A message from the King

Days followed and Anne continued to visit her newly found secret place. Henry had been busy with his nobles working out a way to avoid war with Spain. The marriage between the two had caused upset around Europe, especially Spain as it disagreed with Henry on his views towards the church.
Anne had become accustomed to her husbands lack of attention, but she did not mind, she knew her husband was busy and she had now found a place in which she could lose herself, a place where she could be free to explore and not feel the pressure of court and her title.

Anne was seated by her window looking out at the Gardens of Windsor, she felt at peace although she knew that someone would come and disturb her calm sooner or later. She was right as, if not a minute later there was a knock at her chamber door, she let out a groan of annoyance and she pulled herself from the beautiful site and towards the mirror, she checked her appearance before taking a breath and walking in the direction of the door. Normally one of her ladies would have answered but they had all been dismissed as there was help needed for the return of princess Mary for her birthday.
Anne pulled the door open and was met by a young man, he looked a little rough round the edges, although he looked at least presentable in front of the queen in the Royal messengers uniform.
Anne smiled at the nervous looking boy, the look of sheer surprise on the young boys face had greatly amused Anne, the young man clearly did not expect to be met by the Queen herself when he knocked on the door:
"Morrow, is there something you need to tell me?" Anne asked making sure to give the boy an encouraging smile, to keep him from collapsing under pressure, because currently the poor boy was red in the face completely red a shade nearly as bright as the Lancashire rose itself.
"I bring news from the the king, he says you need to be ready for a visit from the French King, he will be arriving n-next w-week" the boy continued to stammer while explaining the message to Anne. When the messenger had finished Anne bid him farewell and thanked him for delivering the message from the King, she thought she might have to call for assistance as when she spoke to him he seemed to be so bewildered and excited that Anne believed there could be a risk of him fainting in her quarters, which would not be a pretty site and hard to explain to many. Although thankfully she was able to safely escort the young man out and back on to his daily duties without any assistance, which pleased Anne because she always likes to complete things and knowing that she did it all on her own made the feeling of accomplishment even greater.
