Chapter 8

I walk towards the cashier and order Hazelnut Chocolate. Hot chocolate will do good for my shitty mood. What happen is, I woke up with serious headache and while I'm taking shower I cough a blood. That's not a good thing for my health. And not only that, my doctor today insist I go back to hospital to have better care for my health. My mom was crying while begging me to do so, but I don't want spend my life in the hospital anymore. Nate was so quiet because he can't beg me yet he know what's best for me. I'm thankful for Nate. So I runaway from home while my mom discussing everything with my dad who took a day off today.

I sigh and drink my hot chocolate.

"Hello there." I heard a lady call me. I looked up and saw Laila.

"Hello." I reply enthusiasticly.

"Can I join you?" She asked while holding her tray

"Sure."

She sit in front of me and put her drink in the table.

"So, I seldom see you around in campus."

"Yeah, I took a break."

"Nice." She nodded. "So, how are you?" She asked while looking at me directly

"Fine, how are you?"

"Much better than you." She reply and once again looking at me expectantly

"Good." I answered. "I heard your rejection for Shane."

She shrugged, "He doesn't know what's he's doing."

"What do you mean?"

She looked at me like I'm insane or something. "He love you."

I chocked from my drink and wipe some hot chocolate that spill on my face. "What?!"

"Come on, Amber. He talk about you all the time." She said while smilling

"What?!"

"Yeah, 'Amber like this.. Amber doesn't like that... Amber is like this... She's like that...'" She explain while mimicking Shane's voice and make an air quotes.

"What?!"

"aw.. stop with the WHAT thing." She said while brush off her hair from her shoulder

I can't reply anything, she leave me speechless.

"And do you know, 75% best friend from opposite sex will fall in love or 25% friendzoned?"

"Come on, He's my bestfriend. He like you a lot. He even look so sad when he told me about the rejection."

"Well..." She thrailed off. "I stil believe he love you."

"As sister." I added

She looked at me with doubtful eyes and shake her eyes a little. "You're so funny, Amber. Shane is totally blind."

"What do you mean?" Laila can't stop surprise me enough with her remarks.

"If he didn't love you, you love him."

"WHAT?!"

"I can see it when you say 'as sister' there's a disappointed glint on your eyes."

I chuckle "You analyze too much."

"I'm in psychlogy not for nothing." She said while finishing her drink. "Alright, I'll see you around, and tell Shane I say 'hi'." Then she leave me.

I shake my head indisbelieve. Laila analyze too much. Or is it that obvious? I mean, nowadays I feel lesser attraction towards Shane since Nate is always there for me. But I can't help it sometimes I still wondering, how will Shane react when he found out my illness. I sighed, for now, I just need to relax and spend the last of my life with joy. YEAY *sarcasm*.
