Chapter 4

Lexi's POV:
I woke up on the roof. I sat up and looked around. I was wrapped in a blanket, with a pillow under my head. I didn't remember how I got up here. The memory's started fading back. Shawn. Where's Shawn? I stood up. I didn't see him anywhere. My head was throbbing. I have no idea why. I sat back down and texted Shawn.

Lexi:
Where are you Shawn? I only remember a little bit of last night!

Shawn:
Lexi! This is Aaliyah. Last night after he went after you, you both got drunk. He put you to sleep and left. When he was heading back home a drunk driver swerved close to the side of the road. At the same time Shawn stumbled into the road. Lexi Shawn was hit.

I couldn't believe it. My heart felt as if it was squished. I couldn't breathe. I grabbed the blanket and pillow and went through my bedroom window from the roof. My clock said it was 6:00 am. My dad was gone for work already. I sprinted down the stairs. I let the tears flow out of my eyes. I still couldn't breathe. I dropped to the floor. I felt like someone was choking me. I picked myself up and opened my moms bedroom door. She sat up.

"What? Whose there?" She yelled.

"M..o...m," I said barely able to speak, "Sh...Shawn Mendes, Aaliya..h's brother is in the ho...spi...tal. We have to go..o." I spit out crying.

"Lexi! It's 6am. You barely even know the kid and I've never met him. Why are you crying so hard?" She asked.

"Mom is hard to explain I'll explain later! We have to go now!" I yelled fighting the tears now. She slid out of bed, put on a jacket, and grabbed her car keys.

I can't drive. I'm a horrible driver. I've tried so many times already.

I ran to the car with Mom walking behind. I jumped in the front seat. She opened the drivers side door and got in. She started the car, and we were off.
